A peaceful, beautiful getaway

This place is perfect for a quiet time relaxing in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Location is well worth the journey to this extremely peaceful hilltop settlement with lots of character. Straight from the accommodation you can walk up into the forests and be totally immersed in nature. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and charming. You can really feel at home here and the hosts make it feel so private. Lovely city of Siena is only half an hour drive away. Wonderful stay!

Pleasant place for a short stay in Chianti

Enjoyed this simple and comfortable cottage with its amenities, the pool and sweet garden. The property is shaded from the sun at times which was good. The location is idyllic for those of us who seek solitude. Come laden with your shopping to alleviate the need to do too many trips down to town. Overall a very pleasant stay

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Wir haben zu zweit eine Woche in dem Bauernhaus in der NĂ€he von Chianti verbracht. Das Haus ist von Alida, der Gastgeberin, unheimlich liebevoll, detail- und umfangreich eingerichtet. Es verfĂŒgt ĂŒber zwei Schlafzimmer, einen Wohn-/Essbereich mit TV (Netflix-Zugang) und ein Bad mit Dusche (HandtĂŒcher, Fön etc. ist vorhanden). Es fehlt an nichts; das Haus verfĂŒgt sogar ĂŒber eine Waschmaschine. Die Lage ist einmalig: Ein Ort, an dem man wirklich einmal zur Ruhe kommen kann. Der Pool und die Gartenanlage ist zur Privatnutzung und sehr gepflegt. Alida ist eine sehr freundliche, unaufdringliche Gastgeberin, mit der wir uns auf Englisch wunderbar verstĂ€ndigen konnten. Mit dem Auto ist das Haus ĂŒber eine Serpentinenstraße zu erreichen. Einkaufen waren wir im ca. 30 Minuten entfernten Montevarchi, dort gibt es einen Ipercoop-Supermarkt mit einer außergewöhnlich großen Auswahl. Wir können das Haus jedem empfehlen, der ein bisschen ursprĂŒngliche Toskana erleben möchte und wĂŒrden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Wir haben unseren Urlaub in Starda sehr genossen! Wer Ruhe und Natur sucht in einer mittelalterlichen Umgebung, ist hier richtig. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich, hilfreich und unaufdringlich. Leider haben ich und meine Partnerin nie italienisch gelernt. Die VerstĂ€ndigung klappte aber auf Englisch sehr gut. Starda liegt auf einem HĂŒgel mit schönem Ausblick ĂŒber die Landschaft. Man sollte einkalkulieren, daß die letzten Kilometer ĂŒber eine Schotterpiste gefahren werden mĂŒssen. Zum Teil ist die "Strade Bianche" (weiße Schotterpiste, typisch fĂŒr die Toscana) durchsetzt mit Schlaglöchern. Man muß langsam fahren und auch mit Wildtieren rechnen. FĂŒchse, Wildschweine und Rehe sind uns oft begegnet. Ziele, die mit dem Auto in einer halben Stunde zu erreichen sind: Monteluco (gut sortierte Alimentari und Osteria), Castagnoli "Il Bandito" (preisgĂŒnstiges, nettes Restaurant). Wir kommen gerne wieder! --- We enjoyed our holiday in Starda very much! If you are looking for peace and nature in a medieval setting, this is the place for you. Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Unfortunately, me and my partner never learned Italian. However, communication in English worked very well. Starda is situated on a hill with a beautiful view over the countryside. You should take into account that the last kilometres have to be driven on a gravel road. Some of the "Strade Bianche" (white gravel road, typical for Tuscany) is riddled with potholes. You have to drive slow

UnverfÀlschtes Chianti

Das einzige, was noch schöner ist, als das kleine Castell Starda und seine wunderschöne Umgebung, sind die Gastfreundschaft und der Humor von Alida und ihrer Familie. Ein echtes StĂŒck Chianti, so lieblich und unverfĂ€lscht, dass einen noch lange die Sehnsucht danach packt. Das Appartement ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und hat alles, was es fĂŒr einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt benötigt. Dieses Refugium sei allen empfohlen, die dem manchmal stressigen Alltag durch gutes Essen und tiefgreifende Bekanntschaften begegnen wollen. Wir werden wieder kommen und freuen uns auf den kleinen Borgo und seine Menschen.

Nicht so wie beschrieben

FrĂŒhzeitig abgereist. Gartenmöbel alt und unbequem, teils mit Farbe ĂŒberstrichen. Auflagen der Liegen verdreckt,Liegen alt teilweise defekt. Kaum SchattenplĂ€tze am Pool. UmstĂ€ndliche,steile Treppe zum Pool ,teils gefĂ€hrlich. Extreme Zufahrt mit dem Auto, nicht am Haus parken ,wie beschrieben. KĂŒche zu klein ,Kaffeemaschine billiger Schrott, defekt. Wohnraum dunkel ,zum Essen musste man das Licht anmachen . Morgens um 10 !Insektennetze defekt. Sonntag Pool belegt nicht nur von den Besitzern,sondern von der ganzen Familie mit Freunden .Gebadet in UnterwĂ€sche! Poolreinigung unangekĂŒndigt, Mann steht auf einmal da ,Pool musste verlassen werden .Keine Klimaanlage obwohl in der Beschreibung von FeWo!! 28 Grad im Schlafzimmer, erholsames Schlafen nicht möglich. 40 min Fahrt zum grösseren Supermarkt, davon 20 min Schotterweg,alles steil bergab oder bergauf, kurvig .Unmöglich mal spontan zum essen gehn .LĂ€rm der Zikaden war unertrĂ€glich, den ganzen Tag !!!

Wunderbare Ruhe in der toskanischen Wildnis

Wir hatten eine schöne Woche im sehr großen Haus (man wohnt im ersten Stock) bei Alida, die eine sehr freundliche und keineswegs aufdringliche Vermieterin ist. Die meiste Zeit ist man alleine inmitten der toskanischen Natur mit Katzen, einem Fuchs und Wildschweinen. Ein richtiges kleines Bergnest, Auto unbedingt erforderlich. Der Weg dorthin etwas abenteuerlich aber man gewöhnt sich daran und wird mit einem tollen Pool, absoluter Ruhe und einer gut ausgestatteten Unterkunft belohnt. Empfehlenswert fĂŒr alle, die gerne wandern und Ruhe suchen. Die wunderschöne Toskana und die umliegenden WeingĂŒter kann man natĂŒrlich trotzdem erreichen.

Schöner RĂŒckzugsort

Die Ferienwohnung hat alles was man so braucht und ist einfach, aber sehr gemĂŒtlich und urig. Internet vorhanden, aber recht langsam (Streamen bedingt möglich). Die Gastgeber super nett und herzlich. Beide sprechen passabel Englisch und gehen auf WĂŒnsche ein. Uns hat die Gastgeberin sogar Foccacias vom BĂ€cker mitgebracht. Die Unterkunft ist wirklich sehr abgeschieden. Ca. 8 min Autofahrt von der Hauptstraße ĂŒber Schotterweg durch Wald und Berge. Von da aus kann man mit dem Auto die ganze Toskana erkunden. Es war wirklich schön und wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Ruhe und Natur pur

Der Empfang war herzlich und die BĂŒrokratie schnell erledigt somit standen 2 Wochen Ruhe und Entspannung in wundervoller Lage nichts mehr im Weg. Alida gab uns einige Tipps, wo man hingehen kann und half uns auch beim reservieren, da wir so gut wie kein italienisch sprechen. (Und ihr Apfelkuchen, der eines Tages nach einem Ausflug auf uns wartete, war auch fein) Ansonsten bekommt man gar nicht mit, dass dort noch jemand wohnt. Der Pool wird jeden Morgen gereinigt und dann hat man ihn fĂŒr sich allein. Die Wohnung ist wie zu sehen in einem historischen Natursteinhaus, wer klinische Sauberkeit erwartet ist dort falsch. Es ist aber keinesfalls dreckig und wir fĂŒhlten uns dort sehr wohl. Als Tipp möchten wir die Osteria Di Meleto, 12km bzw 20min entfernt, erwĂ€hnen. Die Speisekarte wechselt saisonal, ist aber von erstklassiger QualitĂ€t. Alles in allem ein gelungener Urlaub in der landschaftlich einzigartigen Toskana.

Heel vriendelijke mensen, Zeer rustig en wat afgelegen.

Vriendelijke mensen, zij doen er alles aan om je verblijf aangenaam te maken. Alles in en om het zwembad wordt keurig bijgehouden, alles is netjes. Je hebt geen contact met elkaar indien dit niet nodig is. Zeer gastvrij en gezellig.

Entspannter Aufenthalt in Stada

Das FerienhĂ€uschen liegt sehr idyllisch und ruhig in Starda, ca. 10 Kilometer von Gaiole in Chianti entfernt. Starda selbst besteht nur noch aus einer alten Schlossanlage und einigen wenigen noch bewohnten HĂ€usern. Die Osteria des Ortes hat leider geschlossen. Nach einer etwas abenteuerlichen Anfahrt wĂ€hrend der letzten Kilometer wird man mit einer wunderschönen Landschaft und absoluter Ruhe belohnt. Da nimmt man die lĂ€ngeren Anfahrten zum Einkaufen und nach Siena oder Florenz gerne in Kauf. Das HĂ€uschen selbst ist gut ausgestattet, mit allem, was man braucht. Der gepflegte Garten ist ideal zum FrĂŒhstĂŒcken oder entspannen. Der Pool wird nur von den GĂ€sten des Ferienhauses und den Besitzern, die direkt nebenan wohnen, genutzt. Alida und ihr Mann sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit. Die selbstgemachte Pizza und der Aprikosenkuchen waren ein Gedicht. Vielen Dank, Alida!

Wenn man die Einsamkeit mag ist das genau richtig.

Schön einsam gelegen, vor allem im Herbst. Erstaunt waren wir darĂŒber das wir zusĂ€tzlich fĂŒr die Heizung zahlen mußten. Wir konnten uns zwar ein wenig einigen, der generelle Preis dafĂŒr war jedoch zu hoch um nicht zusagen unverschĂ€mt. Vor allem weil darauf vorher nicht hingewiesen wurde. Es sollte im Herbst doch normal sein das geringfĂŒgig geheizt wird! Das hatte das Urlaubserlebnis leider getrĂŒbt.

Wenn man Ruhe sucht, ist man hier genau richtig!

Wunderschön ruhig gelegene Wohnung, die mit allem ausgestattet ist, was man fĂŒr einen WohlfĂŒhlurlaub braucht. Wenn man die Toskana erkunden will, muss man Zeit einplanen. Das ist der Preis, den man fĂŒr die Abgeschiedenheit zahlt ;-) Dennoch haben wir in der Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes viel von der Toskana gesehen. Die Gastgeber sind wunderbar. Vielen Dank!

Een zeer mooi ingericht huis met zeer vriendelijke, discrete en behulpzame eigenaars. Een zeer mooi en heerlijk zwembad..Ideaal verblijf indien je van rust houdt. Bereikbaar via een 3 km lange strade blanche die echter goed berijdbaar is. Een aanrader. Er is geen airco maar door de dikke muren heb je die ook niet nodig.

Little paradise with private pool and lovely hosts

The place is located far off from cities or roads, so is absolutely tranquil and peaceful, and can be reached via a winding dirt road, surrounded by loads of green, jasmine, rosemary and beautiful views, the only sounds you hear are birds and cicadas. So perfect for anyone looking for a truly quiet time. It is part of a little borgo (traditional old small hill village) with just a handful of stone houses, some of which are still inhabited. There used to be an Osteria and restaurant next door, but sadly apparently they havenÂŽt survived Corona. Due to the rather long drive to a supermarket (ca. 1/2 hr), IÂŽd recommend to bring what you need for the day of arrival and the next breakfast. Since there are no other apartments, the pool is truly private - just for the occupiers of the house. Strictly speaking, its an apartment, not a whole house, but with the own entrance and the owners living upstairs and using a different part of the house, it FEELS like a house. The kitchen is well stocked, with a variety of pots and pans, cutlery, kitchen utensils, microwave, 4-burner gas hob, oven etc. There is even a washing machine, and the shower has excellent water pressure. The wifi was surprisingly good/fast, even for streaming, while my mobile phoen Vodafone coverage was practically zero, with the occasional Edge coverage (just as useless except for sms). The owners Alida and her husband are absolutely lovely and very welcoming, yet not intruding at all. We didnÂŽt see them most of the days, but they were only a Whatsapp message away, and even brought us some excellent homemade pizza one day! They have been also very patient and understanding with us arriving much later than announced, because erroneously and carelessly we first followed our gps directions to Gaiole in Chianti, which actually is about 20-30 minutes away from the borgo Starda. Search for Fattoria Castello Di Starda, which is in Google Maps, and is right next door to the holiday home. All in all, a wonderful experience and we most certainly will come back!

Es war ein schöner Ort zum Verweilen.

Die Anfahrt ist etwas abenteuerlich, aber dafĂŒr wird man mit absoluter Ruhe belohnt. Die Aussicht und der Sonnnenaufgang einfach toll. Das Haus ist nett und gemĂŒtlich eingerichtet, es ist alles da was man so braucht. Der Garten und der Pool sind super gepflegt. Alida und ihr Mann sind ein sehr nettes und freundliches Paar. Dolce Vita in der Toskana (Starda)

Sehr netter Empfang durch Alida. Jederzeit ansprechbar fĂŒr etwaige Fragen. Tolle Location in sehr schöner Umgebung. Absolute Ruhe, wie wir uns es vorgestellt haben. Tolle Ziele in nĂ€herer Umgebung (Siena, Arezzo, Florenz). Perfekt der Pool fĂŒr eine Erfrischung.

Prima ontvangst door Alida de gastvrouw, heerlijk verblijf de eerste keer is het laatste onverharde deel van de weg wat wennen maar dat ging verder prima. Locatie is prachtig en heel rustig, lekker zwembad, prima huis. Heerlijke taart en pizza gekregen van Alida. Kortom genoten.

Prachtig verblijf met enorme gastvrije eigenaren.

De woning ligt in een klein dorpje waar tevens een Osteria is. Om bij het dorpje te komen moet je via een grindpad rijden van ca. 3 km dat loopt door een prachtig natuurgebied met herten en zwijnen. De woning is authentiek ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien en je voelt je er gelijk thuis. Het zwembad dat je prive ter beschikking hebt is een zeer welkome aanvulling voor de warme dagen. In de avond blijft de temperatuur aangenaam maar niet te warm om te kunnen slapen.
