Nice cheap hotel

Overall our stay was good, our expectations were not too high to begin with. The room and hallway had a musty smell. The housekeeping staff left the door to our room open halfway when done but nothing was taken. The breakfast was good.

I Didn't Stay Even Though I Paid

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: See what I wrote above in the paragraph about my experience.
Location: This hotel is in a great location with lots of fun activities close by including a marine park across the road.
I travel regularly and this is the worst hotel I have ever been inside. I did not feel safe because the unkept appearance of the building and the people who were hanging around outside of the lobby. These were not guests, just people hanging around socializing. The hotel key card holder even has a safety warning on it! (See photo) Apparently they do have a problem with safety. It is built like a 50s style motel and doesn't even have a covered area to drive up and unload your luggage. The hallways between the rooms are not finished flooring but rough concrete like a driveway. The rooms are dimly lit and dingy. They probably haven't been painted in 20 years, and the room smelled bad. There were signs everywhere stating "No Pets Allowed" but the family a few doors down from my room had a dachshund that was running up and down the hallway barking. I checked in & paid for the room, but when I looked at the room, I left. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Poor Room Conditions

Although this was a three night stay for us, I could not wait to get out of this hotel. The room smelled cleaned however the rug in the room was dirty and nasty. The bathroom was also in poor condition. The tub had mold stains and the tub floor itself looked dirty. Tub could have used a tub mat. Our refrigerator wasn't emptied out and the lighting in the room was poor. Room felt very gloomy and dark. Being that we were on the first floor didn't want to keep the shade open for lighting. Hotel can truly use an upgrade.

Disappointing

The good: price, very nice staff, close to the beach, decent view, pretty quiet even near a busy road, and free parking, wifi, and breakfast. I can't rate the breakfast as I never ate there. The bad: the room was not cleaned well, if at all, but luckily I brought Clorox wipes. Trash still on floor from previous guests. Stains/spots on 1 of the bed's comforters. Was unable to use safe due to malfunctioning. Toilet was not secured to floor and slightly hit the wall when standing up along with it had trouble normally flushing. Restroom smell from neighboring rooms permeated through when used. Ironing board was beat up although still functioned. Either rust or cigarette stain next to tub (was a non-smoking room). No smoke detector. It was close to the beach but you have to cross a Very busy 4 lane road. Refrigerator had to be slightly front lifted or it dragged on the carpet when opening. It also had an orange substance in the freezer portion maybe from popsicles or soda. Out of 2 lamps in the room one of them didn't work.

Poor Attention To Detail

Pros: Location
We booked this hotel for a one-night stay for our anniversary. The hotel appeared nice and for the price appeared quite reasonable. Unfortunately, I do not believe the staff had paid much attention to the room we were given. The refrigerator smelled as though several fisherman, having spent many a hard week at sea, had come to the this hotel for some rest and relaxation and had stored their monthly catch within it...and left it there for 4-5 additional weeks with the unit unplugged. The stench was overpowering, and permeated every aspect of the room. When I contacted the staff, they stated they would come up when they could and provide us with keys to another room. While waiting for them, I used the restroom. I learned too late that there also appeared to be a leak in the toilet, and upon flushing had a pair of shorts and shoes get soaked by water pooling out of the bottom of the porcelain. Judging by the water staining on the grout of the tile, I would guess this problem has been going on for quite awhile, and repairs had either not been made or had been attempted without success. When I notified them of this problem when they came with our new keys, dirtied shorts in hand (I had covered my lower extremities by this point with new clothing by this point), I was met with a giggle and an attempted apology. Overall, the accommodations were reasonable for the price. But, we were disappointed by condition of the room and the lack of attention to detail of the staff.

This was a nice Hotel for the money.

Pros: It's close proximity to beaches, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc.
Cons: Based on our stay there is nothing much to improve.
Location: The Hotel is about a 2 minute drive from the Pier/Beach. Destin and all it has to offer is only about a 10 minute drive from the hotel.
This was a nice Hotel for the price range. It was close to the Beach and other attractions. During a 4 day stay, we only put 44 miles on our vehicle, so that will give you an idea how close it is to everything. The staff was attentive and the Hotel nice and clean. The breakfast was what you would expect for a mid-range price hotel. Nothing fancy, but more than adequate. We will definitely be staying here again.

Mediocre...no frills...overpriced

Pros: Wifi was included. Fridge in room.
Cons: Rooms are in dire need of renovation. Carpeting is old and nasty.
Location: Beach
The place has only one elevator. We had to wait for the elevator to go up and down 3 to 4 times because it was so full of people, bags, carts, etc. The pool is very small. They offer breakfast, but we did not partake. The rooms are nothing fancy. The rooms have nothing more than the bare minimum. The carpeting is disgusting. The bathroom sink is very small; very little counter space. The tub had lots of stains. It's an ok place if all you need is a place to shower and sleep. In my opinion, it was way overpriced. If I knew how run down this place is, I would have gladly paid a little more to stay at a nicer hotel that is actually on the beach. I would rate this place as a 1.5 star hotel.

Great stay for the price

The hotel is a little old, but well kept. Only 1 elevator so a little slow. We stayed on 3rd floor so mostly using stairs. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Best bang for the bucks. Would use again.
