Not worth the cost.

Pros: A pretty exterior and it is close to the airport.
Cons: Room size, cost lowering and free parking for hotel guests.
Rooms are small and you can hear outside noise as if it's in the room. Had to pay an unexpected cost of $30.00 to park my rental car overnight. When the car was brought to me in the morning it was covered in bird droppings.

Mid Range Hotel

Pros: It was clean and convenient. The staff provided exceptional service.
Cons: Better dining services in the evening.
Location: I probably would not stay there for an extended period since it is not a central location but excellent if you are taking a cruise.
We only spent on night as it was a stop over prior to embarking on a cruise and the description of this particular hotel's location and reviews by others who had stayed there for the same reason influenced my decision. Overall the hotel was fine. We were moved to another room immediately upon informing the staff that housekeeping and left dirty linens on the bathroom floor apparently while cleaning. We did not ask for the room change but they insisted. Other than that, we had no problems. The room was spacious and clean. We could not obtain dinner on the premises but there was an upscale restaurant within walking distance. We were able to have breakfast onsite and we were able to arrange a shuttle ride to the cruise port.

Last minute vacation

Pros: The only complaint I would have is paying for Wifi daily and no fridge in the room.

It is Key West

Pros: Location, Premium.
Cons: Staff at the Deskfront
Location: Key west an island to rest

Friendly; Convenient; Excellent value

The Renaissance is a nicely remodeled property with very helpful and friendly staff. I had direct contact with bellpersons, waiters, bartenders, front desk staff and cleaners and was impressed with how consistent their helpfulness and genuine friendliness was. This is a compact property without a lot of amenities, but is in a great location with good walkable restaurants and stores. Close to the water for enjoyment, as well as for fast and easy access for cruisers at Port Everglades. Nice sized clean rooms with excellent new beds and great pillow options. Fabulous water pressure in the shower.

Great value, close to dining & cruise lines

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
We were pleasantly surprised, especially for the price. We just needed an overnight place before a cruise. The location was perfect, both in proximity to the cruise line and the variety of dining places within walking distance. The staff was very nice, the rooms clean and fresh. We were able to get a ride to the cruise line for $7/Person. Should we cruise out of Fort Lauderdale in the future, we plan to stay here again.

Great experience!

I was very impressed with the friendly staff at this hotel. From checking in at the front desk, to room service delivery, to bellman, to the restaurant and lounge, the staff made it a point to connect with me in conversation. The hotel is very nice and is located very close to the cruise port. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. All areas of the hotel were well kept and very clean.

Excellent Choice

We stay one day before our cruise sail from Port Everglades, they have excellent staff from the bell boy to the front desk guys, they are very friendly, always with a smile in your face our room was very confortable, beautiful decoration. The Hotel is perfectly located near malls, restaurants and about 3 minutes from the Port Everglades. They have enought transportation available anytime to port or go around Lauderdale. We speacially thanks the bell boys that help us everytime with information and our taxi driver Felix they did a great job.

Nice Hotel

The Renaissance Hotel is very nice although going renovations which seem to be almost complete. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Rooms smell great and are nicely designed (some with chaise lounges) and flat screen tvs. I don't know what they use to make rooms smell fabulous when you walk in but all hotels should do the same. Free internet access is available for guests and flight check-in is available at front desk. The bartender on duty makes a great mojito. The restaurant makes a good buffalo popcorn shrimp. The pool and jacuzzi area is very nice and the comfortable cabanas. I'm sorry I didn't make more use of it. The hotel is in a good location considering it is not on the beach. Port Everglades is across the street. You can take the Sun Trolley that is 5-10 minute ride away from the beach. Just flag it down and it stops. Price varies from 50 cents to $1 for Trolley. Walgreens is across the street from hotel. A Nail Salon, Radio Shack, Cold Stone Creamery, Subway and Liquor stores are about 1 1/2 blocks away while Dennys, CVS, & McDonald's & Burger King are about a 10 minute walk. The Bimini Boat Yard restaurant is just yards away from hotel. Very nice view of yachts with indoor/outdoor views and good food. You can get to shopping areas by public transportation but they take a while to get to. Overall a very nice place to stay.TIP: If going to South Beach by car...take I-95 and not AIA.
