When we arrived at the house, we encountered an awful odor. It smelled like a wet dog, or musty, or moldy. I can't really categorize it. We opened the windows, and tried to air it out. We found a can of air freshener. Both only helped a little.The heat was not working. There was an error code flashing on both the downstairs and upstairs units.We contacted the management company and they sent someone that evening.He brought us another can of air freshener. He told us the error code had to be cleared by the manufacturer techs on the outside unit. He said the odor was from the lake, churning up all manner of smells from the the ice melting. " When the HVAC is operating, the smell will clear out." We arrived on Saturday. The HVAC tech was not scheduled until Tues afternoon, the day before we checked out. Fortunately there was a gas fireplace that provided some heat. It was very cold outside the days we were there. We left one day before our check out day. Mainly because of the smell. Awful!In addition to the odor, the house is generally dirty. We encountered other people's hair, in various places. The living room furniture is stained and torn. The tub does not drain properly, so we were up to our ankles in water when showering. There is no where to store clothing. Only one closet in one bedroom, with a bar to hang clothing. A filthy stained mattress in the main bdrm closet. No shelf or bar. The dryer was full of partially dry sheets & towels. Don't stay here!
