The restaurant/bar below our room had a very, very loud band that played until midnight-impossible to sleep. Also, when I requested a small bar of soap for our bathroom, I was told they were out of soap.

I love this hotel. It is convenient to a load of eateries. The rooms give the feel of a studio apartment with exposed brick and beams. The staff was very nice and helpful as well.

Smelly and noisy room with a big extractor fan or something on the outside wall and bbq smoker or something extracting out. Uncomfortable bed which creaked and moved each time you got up from it. Bedroom door didn’t lock properly, had to keep opening and closing it to get it to close and lock. Safe didn’t work but were told we were supposed to ask for keys for it at reception, how would we know? Reception called management about the safe but by the time they offered us keys it was too late for us to use/ended up carrying our stuff around with us as the room didn’t feel secure due to the malfunctioning door. The photos don’t represent what you’re getting, our room was basic…the photos make them look much nicer. Staff listened to me but couldn’t offer another room as sold out. We should be refunded at least part of what we paid but the manager never bothered to call me even though reception staff took my number and said they wanted the manager to call me. We stayed a Saturday night in a hotel 5 times better than this for the same price. They shouldn't put customers in the room we were in or they should offer it at a cheaper rate.

The Striklin Hotel. A BEAUTIFUL boutique hotel in downtown Florence, Alabama. If you’re ever in Florence, do yourself a favor and stay a night or two. The service was impeccable and the hotel has been beautifully renovated. The restaurant connected to the hotel is called Big Bad Breakfast and it did not disappoint. I had the avocado toast with egg and it was absolutely delicious.
