This villa is equipped with all that is necessary to make your Algarve Holiday relaxing, enjoyable and memorable.special prices .THE SUMMER IN PORTUGAL IS TO GOOD TO BE MISSED................ Dining and drinking: Restaurants in a radius of about a 10 minute drive (e.g. in Estoi, Moncarapacho, Sao Bras de Alportel) provide for your well-being with tasty Portuguese cuisine. Typical for the Algarve menu is fish and seafood. Portugal is a wine country and it is always worth trying the white, green or red wines.Estoi village (5 minutes by car from the villa) is an unspoilt, quaint little hilltop town, nestled in the foothills of the Serra do Caldeirão. Wonderful stay at Villa Murta

Our family of 6 adults recently stay at Villa Murta for 3 weeks in May24 and were very pleased with our decision to stay here. The villa was very large and fit our family well. We enjoyed the pool and the pool table and the location to Faro and surrounding area was easy to access. The road leading to the villa is very narrow so a smaller vehicle is recommended. The location to the closest Lidl and Continente grocery stores in Sao Bras de Alportel was very convenient. Thank you Villa Murta for an awesome family vacation. !

Lovely villa - shame about service

This is a lovely property with lots of space, but feels a little tired, a bit like the service by owner/manager… We made our booking, then booked our flights…then the owner got in touch saying we had to move to a day later - our flights were already fixed. Eventually he agreed we could work with the original date. But communications were terse. I was concerned about finding the property as we were arriving late and previous reviews said it was difficult to find, but it was no problem. I asked the owner to ensure some water and fruit, for example, were left In the property as we would be very late arrivals. There was nothing left for us. We paid 35€ per room for towels and bedding - the info booklet at the property said towels would be changed mid week and bed linen after a week - and cleaning. This did not happen, despite me contacting the manager and owner, who said that no info booklet existed (?) and I would have to pay again per room if i wanted bedding changed - I even photographed the booklet - really disappointing! I had also asked if it was possible for some other pillows. That was a ignored. The pool filters did not seem to be running or the baskets cleared so I messaged to check - the owner told me to stop worrying about small stuff and enjoy my holiday…. Our aircon stopped working the day before we left - I messaged to report it and the manager rang to tell me where the trip switch was - this did not solve the problem and nothing else was done. Shame.

Out of date beautiful spot it could be wonderful with some money spent on it. The drainage in showers need to be looked at as the base filled with water it didn’t drain away so you had a backwash of hair and do not know what else, not very pleasant, this was on all showers. I was told on the Sunday we needed to bring bedding and towels, I had not read this in the information so that was my fought I was shocked of having to pay extra to acquire the bedding for our stay, why would you travel on a plane with bedding, I was totally thrown apparently since Covid, we have to live with Covid it’s not goin When we arrived it was just left on the hall table we had to make our own beds, not what I would expect. The bedding and towels need to be updated, the bath towels almost like hand towels. The pillows were filled with cubed foam, most uncomfortable. The pool table on two of its sides there are patio doors, a complete accident one of the balls fell off the table bounced and went into the patio door cracking the window, so added insurance is essential in this property. The aircon went off several times had to phone for it to be rebooted. BBQ was not fit for purpose and filthy. There is an old fridge freezer in the kitchen which is broken and has been there since 2019 needs to be removed. The balcony upstairs off one of the bedrooms could do with some furniture so you could enjoy views of an evening. On the upside it was well stocked cutlery and crockery. Disappointing

Average stay for a family of 4

Our 9 night family stay at Marta was good at best. The villa is very large and each room is very spacious. The villa can hold two families of 4 or 4 couples. The villa is set outside the village/small town of Estori. It's a quiet location, other than the occasional noises of dogs barking and roosters calling out, which we found fitted the setting. The narrow dirt road leading to the villa is not ideal for a van or large people carrier. There are a few downsides to the villa that we found. We paid additional costs (300euros) for the pool heating and linen, but the pool never got above 25 degrees, which in April was very cold. The cost of the linen for a family of 4 consisted of 2 pool towels, 2 bath towels and 6 hand towels and 2 white bed sheets. Pillows were very lumpy and old, and dated blankets. The kitchen cooking equipment is old and handles on pans were loose. No cleaning supplies were left other than half a bottle of washing up liquid and one sponge. The sun loungers are dated and old. Lastly the sofa was awful, dirty and separated into small sections constantly. Not comfortable at all. The villa needs updating with regards to furniture and homeware. I am not sure I would completely recommend this villa as these issues did annoy me throughout the stay.

Really nice peaceful location

We had an amazing time away and was a beautiful place to stay, it’s initially abit challenging to find but once there it was a breeze in and out, the villa is extremely large and spacious with everything you need. We had gone for the pool to be heated due to the time of the year this wasn’t very efficiently ran so it remained cool but the owner generously reimbursed us for this! The communication was great and I would recommend and return my self.

Portuguese holiday retreat

Great villa and as we expected, in the hills in a peaceful location. The house had all we needed and sightseeing in the area is easy (car essential) New bed linen and pillows would be a great investment. We will definitely return to Portugal, everyone we met was friendly, the food delicious and thoroughly enjoyed the local vino verde

Beautiful villa in a lovely peaceful location

We loved this property and loved the more rural location . The villa is beautiful , very spacious with everything you need and the pool area is great, we loved having this and spent lots of time using it . The views from the terrace are amazing . Despite the rural location , the villa is very close to nearby Estoi for a local shop and cafe . Estoi is also lovely for an afternoon wander - we went to see the ruins and the pink palace . Slightly further away but still only a short drive is Sao Bras de Alportel . A really pretty town with lovely restaurants to eat out at night . Fuseta was our favourite beach , around a 30 minute drive away . A lovely relaxing holiday with our children , we will definitely be back . Thankyou

Very nice, large Villa

Lovely villa. Lovely pool. Can’t fault the place as a beautiful location. A little remote and thus you get the upside and downside of that. Really peaceful and private, but you can’t really walk out anywhere to eat / drink. Also a lot of dogs around on the streets, which makes even walking unattractive, unless you’re more hardy than me. We drove up to São brás de alportel for a walk and it was a beaut of a town. Went several times - simple yet a good for a walk, shop and also has a good little public swimming pool for the kids. Overall, great Villa if you want to hide away. And it’s massive.

Lovely large villa

The villa had everything we needed, the pool table was great too. Swimming pool was nice and excellent views. The local manager was very helpful too. Be careful on arrival, don’t turn up by the little church, continue and take the right fork then look for wooden gates on the right.

Peaceful rural retreat with fantastic views

The house , pool and gardens are fantastic for up to 8 people. The views of the surrounding hills and countryside are amazing and the surrounding garden and grass are well kept. We had the pool warmed which was perfect for swimming even in the late evening. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, crockery etc. The property manager was very responsive throughout the booking and period of stay. Overall a fantastic holiday had by all.

Another great stay at a wonderful villa with great views

Great return visit to a wonderful villa in a stunning spot. The weather in January was also nice enough to sit outside most days, as it was the first time we visited. The access inside the villa is brilliant - lots of room to move around and have your own space or come together. The village is quiet and lovely, and the palace is definitely worth a visit - all not too far away, but you will need transport. The villa is extremely accessible inside but it remains a little tricky getting from car to entrance if you have a wheelchair, pushchair or heavy cases but this could easily be fixed by creating a simple rear path so you don't need to walk over the grass if it is wet. Another lovely stay. Thank you.

Fantastic villa in a private and peaceful setting

This is a lovely villa with a great pool and fantastic amenities. It is extremely private and very peaceful (apart from some crowing cockerels and barking dogs). There are fantastic views across the valley to watch the sun got down, whilst enjoying a late dip in the pool. The pool table was also a massive hit with my children. There is lots of space in the villa, great bathrooms and a fantastic outdoor eating area. We loved the location, just 5 mins away from the lovely town of Estoi (nice cafes, an old place and roman ruins) and about 30 mins from Tavira, Faro and the coast. We loved Tavira with its churches, Roman bridge and cafes, and had a great day riding (Abilio Bike hire is highly recommended) East along the coast to the stunning Cacella Velha - the coast route was brilliant. We also ventured to the western Algarve coast (the 7 hanging valley walk was brilliant), and enjoyed exploring the Rocha da Pena and Alte inland. Overall, a fantastic holiday.

Peaceful stay

Have just got back from 10 days, we had a fantastic time the property is well maintained, equipped and in a peaceful location except for the cockeral not knowing the time 😀. We had trouble initially finding the property as Google maps tried sending us down a gravel track but after that no problems. Location is a short drive to Lidl and local villages/towns. Glad we paid for the pool to be heated , was great having a pool table as was good to do something in the evenings. Only down side is there is no outside lighting around the BBQ area.

Relax

Well kept villa and lovely views, perfect for relaxing and large enough for large family. You will need a car with sat-nav (don't forget sat-nav and input co-ordinates) roads in area are what seem like back roads, kids/teenagers will want to travel to towns for some sort of life, but plenty of land for kids to venture. Would go again.

Beautiful Villa

A superb villa with wonderful views and very spacious. We rented the property during January and February and were fortunate to have the best weather we have ever experienced in Portugal for that time of year. This made it very enjoyable to spend as much time as possible outside and admire the wonderful array of spring flowers. The garden is very well attended to. We thank Marianne especially for her help when our car broke down. She is very attentive and willing to please. Thank you so much for everything.

Great house for getting away from it all

The house is very spacious and well kept. The setting in the mountains is great. Had everything we needed. The pool was amazing and the kids loved it.. This is defintley a place to be away from it all. Total silence and great to recharge batteries. The nearest supermarkets are not far off so we had everything close by. You will need a car though. Defintley a place we will be returning to.
