Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was one of our best cabin trips yet! This cabin is about 25 minutes from town, and that’s exactly what we needed this weekend! We were lucky to see a momma bear & 2 cubs on the property, watched from the back deck while the babies climbed a tree! We found a few really unique places near the cabin - a winery w/ amazing views, a mushroom house & a sheep farm! The cabin has everything you need to bring your pup, including a big basket of toys. We will definitely stay at this cabin again.

We went hiking a couple of times with our dog (who loved it also) and spent the rest of the time in the hot tub and around the fire pit.

The listing should be more specific about the road into the property. Also, there is really nothing nearby to do. So perfect for relaxing if you don’t want to leave

Even when the power went out during a tremendous thunderstorm, we loved every minute of our stay. We are still talking about our surprise bear visitor! Cabin was superb

The cabin itself was excellent, however your description of the road to get there was under stated. You say a 4x4 is not needed, but in my opinion it is. Especially with the recent storms, we found it to be treacherous. That said, the cabin and property were very relaxing with beautiful views of the mountain and creek below. Wifi was excellent which we greatly appreciated. Overall. a great experience

My wife saw a few bears while walking our dogs but the bears couldn't have cared less.We had a problem when a contractor severed the water line while upgrading the cable in the area but when I notified Sliding Rock they sent someone promptly to replace the filter which became clogged with sediment.

Pets Heaven

I'm a little late with the review, but hey it's better late than never for such wonderful cabin. We stayed at the cabin late March. This cabin is made for pet lovers. The fenced yard creates a no stress staying for pet owners. I was pleasantly surprise with all the amenities for pets. The pet bed, toys, blanket, treats, enclosure and gate are provided. It was peaceful, secluded and clean. The enclosed back porch with a mini built in table overlooking a small stream is a plus. We had dinner on the porch every night. We hiked down one day and enjoyed collecting rocks from the stream. Overall it was an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

Reviewer Comments: Although the cabin was beautiful i only stayed one night of my stay. The bed was at least 4 feet off the floor and i could not get up in it so ended up on the couch. If i had known the beds were that high i would have chosen another property.

Would be a lot better if the toilet was at handicap height and handrails were on the steps coming in for handicap people. Otherwise, a nice, peaceful rental. Horrible roads to get there, however.

Peace and Quiet

Reviewer Comments: Having rented a different cabin on that mountain before, we knew how tricky the drive could be in the dark and during rainstorms so we shopped for groceries at Ingle’s before checking in. This cabin, our 9th, turned out to be the most well-appointed one we have rented. The owners very generously supplied all of the kitchen equipment you could need. I never needed to use the knives and saute pan that I always bring with us. The only problem for us and our smaller dogs were the high beds though they were very comfortable. If you want peace and quiet, this is one of the nicer places to get that. We enjoyed pizza from Cucinella’s in Blue Ridge and stocking up on our favorite beef and Berkshire pork at Mountain Valley Farm. Did I mention how beautiful and roomy the kitchen is?

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed a week at LOL. The cabin was very nice. Loved the gas propane starter in the fireplace. Kitchen well stocked. Beds comfortable, WiFi security listed as weak...might want to upgrade that, but so far back in the woods, don't think anyone was around to hack it. The road in needs some work...would not try it without an AWD or 4WD vehicle, particularly when raining, as it was when we were there. Very peaceful & quiet. We did not bring a dog, but the fence is so good, not even a little dog could get out.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, our stay was great. However, as forwarded to management, the fenced area is mot a yard. It is an area that is hard to access to follow your dog to pick up after. Also, if your dog tends to eat stuff off the ground, there are hundreds of mushrooms inside the fenced area. If you are afraid of heights, you may not like the beds. They require a stool to get in to. The cabin was extremely clean and set up very well with items to make your stay easier.
