This hotel is very well placed for the Edinburgh Playhouse & other tourist attractions. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel is a lovely old building but so warm & cosy. Our room was at the back & was nice and quiet. Complimentary tea, coffee, soft drinks and water plus biscuits, tray replenished each day. Fridge in the room for the water and soft drinks. Bed extremely comfy and bathrobes and slippers were provided. Lovely smelling toiletries and a very powerful rain shower, didn't want to get out. So much choice at breakfast all prepared with the best ingredients. The hotel doesn't have a carpark but you do get a 40% discount when using the one behind the hotel. Man on the reception, sorry can't remember his name recommended any Italian restaurant nearby. The food was so good that we ate there both nights. I would highly recommend this hotel & will definitely stay here when we visit Edinburgh again.

Before I arrived, I received an email to say what to expect. The Reception staff's greetings were warm and friendly. The room was spacious and extremely clean and cosy. The bed was super comfy and the shower flowed perfect with excellent temperature. Located in walking distance or short journey from all attractions. Room 214 had loud mechanical/whirring noises coming out or aircon vent all night. Very patchy sleep. Recordings taken & being submitted with formal complaint. Staff need to acknowledge there's an issue & fix it. Not good enough for hefty price being charged.
