Great Location very walkable. Hotel was nice staff the were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious.The hotel was clean, my bathroom could of used a little more tlc & the mattress was semi comfortable it had a lump in the middle of it. Otherwise I would stay there again because of the atmosphere and location.

The property was clean and the employees were professional. I and my adult son found the beds were very hard. I had to change position frequently which has led to extreme fatigue. After 4 nights I am happy to be in a different hotel. You do have to pay for coffee and tea beyond the first 2 pods :(

Location was AAA+ and the room itself was nice, modern , clean + nicely decorated. It was the entrance inside, the lobby and reception that made it feel like a budget hotel. The hallway carpet on our floor stained. The person at reception at arrival wasn’t very welcoming, and when we asked if there was more than one towel each he said that when you return one time you will be handed another. Reminded us of jail . Also there were no phones in the room which meant we had to go down any time we had an issue or question. The light on the wall wasn’t working and when we asked for a lightbulb to see if that would fix it we were told we had to wait till the next am when maintenance was in. The blow dry went off very 5 seconds and you’d have to move it a little to get it started again. There was a nespreso machine but no pods. I get that it is an “Aparthotel” and we would need to buy our own but we weren’t expecting that and would have thought for the price we would have at least a few to start us off and then there could be a note advising that we then needed to buy. Hotel sold them but very pricey (why do you need to make such a profit off your guests for something that all hotels provide for free) The woman at the desk after 10pm one eve was especially unfriendly and irritated when we were trying to understand why they wouldn’t at least start us off with a few pods. She said “there IS Coffee there’s instant! The shower needs instructions for tourists that don’t live in UK

Excellent location - convenient to the train station, and in the heart of Canongate. The hotel is visually impressive- it has a castle-like appearance, with appealingly modern decor inside. Our room, however, had a bedside light that was broken, and others that didn’t work. The bathroom had small annoyances- a difficult to operate shower, loosened wall fixtures, soap dispenser didn’t work. If we had paid less I wouldn’t have cared, but as the hotel is 4 star and more expensive, my expectations were higher. On the plus side, they did watch our bags free of charge after checking out.

The location of the hotel was 3 blocks from St. Guiles Church. I stayed in the Castle Turret facing the street and it was very quiet. Staff was helpful and the breakfast offered by the hotel was satisfying. Friendly staff and a clean good size room. I would stay here again.

The staff were amazing especially Pia in the dining room, always a smile and does her job exceptionally well. The Bed was a Murphy bed and quite horrible to sleep on, like a thin sofa bed mattress. This old body was not happy

Building lost power multiple times. Management said it was a whole grid out, but we could clearly see other surrounding buildings had power and that there were 5 service trucks at the hotel. They also refused to give us an invoice when we checked out despite them saying we could get one when we checked in. Would suggest not staying there and picking somewhere else.

Adagio is conveniently located on the Royal Mile, btwn South/Northbridge and Holyrood Palace (downhill from Edinburgh Castle and St Giles Cathedral). All the highlights of Old Town are well within comfortable walking distances. Waverly train station, the trams on Princes St and the bus station are approx 10-15 mins walk. This aparthotel is clean and well-kept, and has good amenities. I loved that this part of Old Town is relatively quiet at night. There is a convenience store nearby too. We got groceries so we could enjoy a light breakfast in our room, and we were able to cook meals or heat leftovers during some nights. There is no hotel bar but there’s plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. The hotel mgmt/staff excelled in customer service. They were very responsive to my questions and needs. I highly recommend Adagio and would definitely stay here again next time I visit Edinburgh!

The staff is top notch and hotel is nice. You are in the heart of the city between old and new town. It is not a quiet hotel. The noise from the streets was loud and there was a scratching noise is the wall between the bathroom and the main room. I assume it was a mouse. Lucky for me I sleep with ear plugs. The conveniance is worth the noise. Just bring ear plugs. The breakfast was great.
