Quaint hotel on the waterfront. I did recieve an upgrade due to my Best Western membership. The hotel needs additional staff. The front desk person was overwhelmed. The WiFi is horrible. The elevator buttons are missing so you have to stick your finger in to activate. Overall this place needs work.

Great location on the seafront, near the Lifeboat Museum.around 15 minute walk from the pier and the train station.
Ageing hotel facilities but the staff were very helpful.Special mention to Nancy who runs the breakfast service who was brilliant.
Very good. Spacious and clean room with fantastic sea view. Location was excellent too. Managed to find parking right in front of the hotel. Staff was friendly. Water pressure of the shower was good. Breakfast spread didn't have many choices but adequate. Enjoyed our stay.
The hotel staff were very welcoming, and the bedroom was very spacious. the staff mad parking really easy, as I called them before, and they gave me all options locally. highly recommend

Breakfast options poor although lady who done breakfast was fantastic ( always singing)
Hotel in general is needing a good renovation all areas looked tired
Comfortable functional room, friendly, helpful staff, parking can be a bit difficult, especially as there was an event on the Western Lawns all weekend, but with perseverance parking can be found and is very cheap, £2.35 for 24 hours when purchased at the hotel. Overall, a relaxing stay.
The Citrus is in need of updating especially the bedroom. We had a seaview but could hardly see the sea because of the net curtains which were dirty and the bad condensation. There was no bedside lights, an old bed, very bad plastering and peeling and even a cobweb and spider in the window ! Old bath panel. Old spotlight hanging from the celing. What was good though that it was spacious, a new carpet and a walk in shower. Continental breakfast ok...
Bathroom toilet had old urine and hair all over it, hand basin dirty. One of the beds had no sheet only duvet on top of yellow stained mattress protector.
Tired public rooms -slightly scruffy. Bedroom Ok. Bathroom dated.
When we arrived the key system was broken and receptionists had to let you into rooms.

Ideal for a short stay
The family room was extremely large and ideal for our 2 night trip. Best Western's budget option but clean, very comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff.
A pool table provided entertainment.
We arrived at the hotel and had to wait to check in for 10 minutes because no one was around and they had no bell to ring for assistance.
The room we stayed in was not clean, especially the toilet which had poo stains down it and the smallest amount of toilet roll, these were rectified when I complained. The bathroom door also didn’t close which was embarrassing for our teenage son who didn’t want his parents to hear him on the toilet.
The heating was on all night even though the radiator was on Zero which made it an uncomfortable sleep.
For what we payed to stay at this hotel we expected the room to be much cleaner and better presented.
We had a great stay here. We were at the top in a huge room with a large walk-in shower. It was clean and comfy, and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. There's a games room in the basement with sofas, a pool table and table football, and it was nice to socialise with other guests for a bit. It's well situated for the Wishtower part of the seafront and we had great views from our room.

This is an old hotel. However the staff’s attention to detail and care was amazing. Nancy who serves breakfast was a ray of sunshine and just a delight. My daughter and friends all enjoyed staying here and we will be back again. Thank you so much for looking after us with the care that you did.
