The Yurt - a unique camping experience

Experience the rustic charm of a real yurt in nature. This is a glamping retreat best suited for outdoorsy types — solo travelers, couples, adults with small kids- still with comfortable beds, private detached bathroom, sitting area, and mini fridge with coffee maker. Set in the woods, this Yurt offers plenty of chances for stargazing and unplugging- more glamping than luxury, but still plenty of comfort. Shared amenities include: outdoor kitchen, grill, and fire pit!

Other Things to Note:
-The Yurt is a fabric-walled structure — not a cabin — and has limited insulation. It does include a portable AC unit and fans, but it may still be hot in summer or cold in winter.

-You may encounter bugs, wildlife, and all the natural quirks that come with camping in the Texas Hill Country.

-The bathroom is detached (about 50 yards away) but private to Yurt guests and secured with an electronic lock.

-Shared amenities across the nine-unit property include an outdoor kitchen with a propane grill and full-size fridge, a bar area, expansive deck, and a firepit (BYO firewood; use subject to burn bans).

The Space:
The Yurt is an open-layout, southwestern-themed space with a king-sized bed, two twin beds, two couches, and a dining table for four. It also includes a small refrigerator, microwave, and drip coffee maker. While not a luxury setup, the space offers a unique, laid-back atmosphere for those looking to unwind in nature. Outside, enjoy your own private seating area, plus access to shared spaces around the property.

Ideal for: Guests who enjoy the outdoors, don’t need frills, and want a Hill Country camping experience with a roof over their heads.

Exactly as described

We had a great time here. The yurt was cozy and cute. The only thing that disappointed me is that there was no coffee. I assumed it would have coffee, so that is on me. The community area is nice and comfy to relax outside and have drinks, listen to music, etc., cleanliness was not a problem. I would def stay again.

New Years Eve

Amenities can be better. Someone needs to check the HVAC unit regularly - it never worked. Coffee mugs are non existent. The unit has been broken into so door is flimsy at best. Screen door is hanging on by a thread and doesn't close. Thought it was out in the country where its quiet. Not on NYE. Neighbor across the lane set off LOTS of fireworks, even though not allowed on property.

Anniversary get away

First time in a yurt. Was a nice experience however the cleanliness of the yurt and bathroom was a little below standards. I’m done with bugs/cobwebs due to the nature of the property, but there was hair on bed, trash under the bed. Hair in the shower and refrigerator. Also the oscillating fan was broken.

Veteran camper. First time in a yurt.

Not our typical thing (glamping), but we loved it! Made our trip to see Wimberley even more special! The yurt is surprisingly spacious on the inside! Reminded me of Harry Potter. Put together nicely and had more than we needed! Best part: Pet-Friendly! Thank you!

Girl’s weekend

We stayed in the yurt. We absolutely loved it. It was roomy and clean. At check in time we received a text message with a number saying if we needed anything just call. I couldn’t find email with code so we called and they resent email. Very quiet place.

Amazing!

The property isn’t far from all the small shopping towns and attractions. Canyon lake, many swim holes, Pedernales Falls State Park, and only about an hour from the San Antonio River walk and Austin. We got to do it all in our little week long vacation. Some attractions are more expensive in the little towns for non-locals but it’s understandable.

Glamping at its finest! Such a good get away to get a taste of nature with all the comfort. We accidentally said our code out loud and being a group of all girls we felt un easy. We called and they were quick to go reset it with in a couple of hours. 100% recommend.

My worst nightmare came alive! Caterpillars and worms everywhere

My family and I looked forward to spending the weekend in this property to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived with our two kids, and even though the property looked nice at first glance, when we entered the yurt, there was an infestation caterpillars and worms of different colors and sizes. I first noticed them on the floor which by the way was dirty (dust, leaves, cotton balls?) and froze in terror because I have a deep phobia of caterpillars and all worms. My husband tried to sweep them but there was no dust pan, so he used a sheet of paper to scoop them and throw them outside the best he could. However, we quickly realized this was unworkable because they were everywhere: under the beds, under the sofas, hanging by the curtains, and bed head etc.) There is no way we can lie our heads in this place. My kids were screaming and running. We went outside to regroup and talk to the property manager, and I completely lost it when a black hairy caterpillar the size of a finger almost crawled on my foot. My husband told me to get back in the car because the big ones are everywhere around the yurt. He then put the kids in the car and we left. We never even got a chance to unload any of our stuff. I'm still slaking thinking and writing about this, and jumping when anything touches me. My 3 years old said we got chase by worms which is a pretty accurate statement. The property manager, unfortunately told us this was the season for silk worms and there is nothing they could do about it. They said they will try to rebook the property and refund me if someone else rented it. They later emailed me to tell me they will not be refunding any money to me because they "have to pay the owner for this reservation." I have emailed them three times already, explaining the situation and how this is unethical, unfair, unjust, and bad business to do this to a customer. The property manager said I shouldn't book a tent if I have a fear of worms. I explained to them in my email that level of infestation is not something anyone renting a yurt will expect, and they never disclosed the location was experiencing silk worms in this season. The customer can only book based on the information on the booking site. If that was disclosed, I would have never came close to that property. If they know that disclosing this will not get them any booking, then it is a scam to list the property, get it booked and refuse to refund when the customer founds out. I need a refund!
