Hear the ocean from every room

Loved the layout, everyone had their own space and bathroom. The water was perfect and the island was wonderful. The locals are so nice and everyone was so friendly. The bugs were terrible but expected for the beach/south. Wish someone would spray the house better though. Overall wonderful. We would definitely go back.

Quite a TREASURE

Cleanliness of this caliber is hard to achieve in the beach as sand gets everywhere - the house was impeccable. The layout was great - bedrooms with associated bathrooms in the four corners of the home. The kitchen amenities were fantastic! The space was second to none. We’ve traveled to the Gulf for years now, this was the best yet.

Short beach getaway

Check in was very easy and home was clean upon arrival and had ample space. Our house was partially behind another house and pictures did not correctly show that. Online pictures showed to have more room. Close walk to get to the beach. The home is well used. The toaster did not work and we lost power from a storm and could not get the smoke alarms reset. The management company responded quickly to any question I had. Overall our space was comfortable and we had a good time.

Respite during our move to Mobile

Property was much larger than it looked online and was located in the West end of DI. Very quiet at night and an easy walk or run to the point for sunset viewing, and a short drive to restaurants, the fort, ferry, and shopping. The property is right on the water, literally, so that was a plus. I would suggest that guests plan on bringing their own chairs and wagons for the beach, as these are not provided. It may be a good idea for Vacasa to help the Island out by building trash receptacle stations at their houses and by the street. We kept up with ours, but it was sad to see trash bins from all of the rental houses left by the street all week. We recommend Pirate Pizza and the new Bottles eatery next door. Islanders was good and Baudeans, just on the other side of the bridge, is delicious. DI is super friendly and laid-back. Watch your speed when you are on the Island; the police are vigilant about ticketing fast drivers. Great trip for us while we waited for our Mobile home to be ready!

WOW!! We loved this place and plan on returning as soon as we find an opening that works for us. We went at a bad time and had several storms our entire stay but the house kept us entertained and we NEVER lost power. When the sun did decide to show its face, we were right on the beach with a perfect private area for our kids to play and enjoy what we could. The location is extremely beautiful and the public beaches are just as perfect. This is the perfect spot to just drive up park your car and not hop back in it until it’s time to leave. MAKE SURE TO GROCERY SHOP BEFORE YOU GET TO YOUR STAY is the only thing unless you don’t mind spending extra.

Being on the beach was awesome! This beach house was perfect for our family plus pet friendly! 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom & tons of fluffy white towels. Comfortable mattresses. Open concept living, dining, kitchen. Great appliances & ice maker. Wish there had been a muffin pan and a few more casserole dishes & mixing bowls. Light, bright, & clean. Broom & vacuum provided to help minimize sand inside. Loved the multiple porches & outdoor shower. The beach chairs, sand toys, and grill were nice extras. Owners provided a few laundry & dishwasher pods and trash bags. We can't wait to come back! Pirate's pizza place & Pirate's restaurants on the island were delicious. Do shop for groceries before leaving the mainland; limited options on the island. Be sure to take the Ferry and visit Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines. Vacasa made this rental so easy!

great stay!

This house was a little worn but extremely clean. It is furnished well and all the appliances worked including the ice maker in the fridge (a common sore spot for me.) The space is laid out well. The 4 bedrooms (we didn't need all the space this time) are well done for multiple families with kids. Our goal was to be within reasonable walking distance of West End Public Beach and it was. We are planning on returning to this location soon!
