Nice inexpsenive hotel downtown

The hotel was beautiful, albeit obviously dated. Room was nice, scarce of many decorations. Very spacious, big closet, weird bathroom. The room could've used some updating and the beds weren't super comfortable. The front desk associate who checked us in was awesome, I wish I remembered his name. In the craziness of NYE I understand it's rough but we asked the front desk for a few things and never got them so ended up leaving without.

First time experience

Pros: Location, amenities, great rooms, great staff
Location: Lots of gresat restaurant choices nearby
On a recent business trip to Dallas, had some last minute changes to my plans. Booked a last minute reservation at Fairmont. Great location - very convenient. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice touch having complimentary car service available for guests

Not a 5 star

For the price, I expect better Just returned from a weekend stay. Bad start: Upon arriving at 4 pm, they did not have the category room I booked. So, I spend my weekend away with my husband in two double beds instead of a king. Here's what makes me mad about this--I could book a king room on line at the time they were telling me they were sold out and even told the front desk this. Heck, I even went back down to the front again and showed them. Their response: "You are in a particular category that is full." Hugh? Their own website listed multiple categories of king rooms available (standard, deluxe, suite, etc) What a bunch of boloney! And I had even paid more than the rate listed. So, that didn't give them any points with me. Noise: I could hear every word from the hallway outside our room. The ice machine was down the hall, but it was so loud that it sounded like it was right outside. Worse, the door next to ours shook our room every time it shut....which was non-stop two nights in a row as party central room for dozens of people. My husband and I were up until 4:00am Saturday night with the door next to our room banging shut. We went into the hallway twice and asked them to keep it down. Of course, this didn't help. I finally called the front desk, but that didn't make a difference. It wasn't the noise coming from inside the room, but the constant open/slamming of the door shut. I don't know how you stop this, but some better noise control is badly needed. Quality of furnishings and bed comfort were both good. Bathroom was average size and could have definitely used some bathtub repair/maintenance. Rooms were cleaned nicely both days. Will I stay again? Probably yes--because we love their restaurant "The Pyramid" so much and think their sommelier is one of the best we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Top quality guy who knows his wine! But, that's a whole other posting.

The Fairmont Dallas, awesome place!

The room was large, clean and very quite. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel restaurant "Pyramid Restaurant & Bar" had a regular menu but also had a three course dinner that was excellent and was worth the price. We would stay and eat here again!

Very classy and comfortable!

Service was excellent, room was very nice and I just liked the facility as a whole. I thought the parking was a tad overpriced but it is what it is!

All the staff were extremely nice, but the room was way too small and being forced to pay for valet was ridiculous!

Pros: free internet if you joined prez club, friendly staff
Cons: forced valet parking, rooms too small, smoke came thru vents
The staff was OUTSTANDING! The room was extremely too small for the price especially for a married couple trying to get away for a romantic trip. The view was beautiful, and the location was perfect for the venue that we were attending. One thing that IRKED THE HECK out of my husband and I was that we were forced to pay for Valet Parking in other words we were not allowed to park our own vehicle there for free. So every time we wanted to leave we had to wait for valet to get our car. It became incredibly inconvenient and expensive for us especially having to tip the valet each trip. This is the only reason why I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel's location was easy to get around the town

Pros: Quiet
We had a comfortable stay, everyone was very courteous and helpful. There is a daily $25 valet parking fee, but the valet group was always prompt and extremely professional and timely in retrieving our car. Our room was on the 24th floor and had a great view of the Reunion Tower, which was beautiful at night. We had a great lunch in the restaurant -- delicious and well worth the price. Just had an overall great weekend.
