Great Location

Pros: What's there not to like about this hotel? It was perfect for needs which was sleeping and showering.
Cons: They were making improvements on the wifi and cable TV while we were there. So for those who complained about that, it worked great for us throughout.
Location: Great ocean view, walking distance to shopping, dining and walking along the seaside.
Keep in mind that this is a Mexican Boutique Hotel. This is not a Hyatt, Hilton, or even a Holiday Inn. It is unique, clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, pillows were thin, had to fold in half and that worked just fine. Breakfast consisted of a small variety of Mexican sweet breads, good coffee but, I'm pretty sure the 'juice' was not real juice. Since we were diving every day, we needed more than the complimentary breakfast but, we took the breads for in between dive snacks. Even though this in centrally located, the noise level was fairly low which consisted of light traffic and the scuba shop below tending to their tanks. (we had an ocean view, the street runs along the ocean) I would definitely consider staying here again next year. Oh, other reviews complained about the pool. We had sun until about 2:30 before the hotel next door blocked it. It was still very nice and relaxing.

good location

Pros: Access to the ferry and downtown area.
Cons: Pillows on the bed rock hard!! Could use a chair in the room and the railing on the patio needs repair.
Location: Very close to restaurants and businesses. Tour companies very close also.
Very nice hotel - just across the road from the beach area. View of the cruise ships and close to the ferry dock. Coffee and juice brought to your room in the morning - very nice.

Great location and hotel

Stayed here for 8 days in May 2013.  We were in room 205 which is an ocean balcony room.  Prior to choosing this hotel, we read every review we could find on it.  We expected: 1) clean  2) good location 3) continental breakfast of coffee/juice/pastries and 4) a 2 star hotel experience.  This hotel exceeded our expectations!  It is in a great location close to restaurants and shopping as well as right next door to Aqua Safari for diving.  Our balcony was large with two chairs and hooks for drying gear.  As some of the reviews have said, it is true that there are no elevators.  We had no problems with any of the staff and felt safe in this hotel.  Bottom line - our experience at this hotel was BETTER than 4 and 5 star hotels that we have stayed at.  We will be back!

Awesome hotel, located right downtown, great value with no issues!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
My wife and I just returned from a trip to the Maya Riveria and stayed at this hotel twice for a total of 3 nights. We had an excellent experience here, finding the staff to be extremely pleasant, patient and helpful. They accommodated our early check in twice and did not mind at all spending time to give us the lay of the land. The rooms were great, large, clean and a nice view of the ocean. The area is pretty quiet and safe. We didn't have any major noise issues even with e nearby bars going strong until the early morning. Our rooms both had nice balconies with hammocks and chairs where we could hang out at night in the cool ocean breeze. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone especially for the price it would be hard to beat in Cozumel.

What a terrific deal

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, right next to aqua safari dive shop
The Vista del Mar was exactly what I was looking for. It is lovely and a great deal. The staff was friendly and helpful, my room was clean and bright, had a TV and free internet. I looked out over the plaza which was lively during the day and quiet at night. There is a pool area where I did yoga in the evenings. I went to go diving on the famous Cozumel reefs and found Aqua Safari dive shop right next door. For five days I did three dives a day walking from my room to the pier across from Aqua Safari. I walked a couple of blocks to the Plaza Mayor and had dinner each night and walked to a market where I bought supplies to keep in the refrigerator to make me snacks between dives. I speak Spanish and enjoy being out in a Mexican town, people watching and appreciating the culture. The Vista del Mar is not a full blown resort, but was perfect for me.

Great Value

Pros: Close restaurants
The hotel is located on the beachfront highway in Cozumel across from the cruise ship terminals .There is easy access to dining and shopping and the staff were very helpfull. Check in was a breeze and the glass of fresh juice was a great bonus. The room was clean and there was very little noise especially after the market closed for the night (we were on the back side of the hotel). There is a taxi stand across the street so transportation isn't a problem. This is a great place if you need to spend a night or two but I wouldn't recommend for an extended vacation since there isn't beach access.

Great Value

Check in was simple and we were even provided a glass of fresh juice. Hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to shops and restaraunts. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We were only in town for one night and this comfortably met our needs.

Perfect combination of quiet relaxation and friendly people

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet, great location, secure, people watching
Tucked in quietly above a couple of shops and a little craft courtyard, it really was the best of all worlds for a getaway. Within in walking distance of so many eaterfront attractions and the city center. Very small hotel that was kept immaculately. The service was fantastic! They asked whether I preferred tea or coffee, the type of juice, and what time I liked to have breakfast. Every morning, like clockwork, they arrived at my door, brought in the lovely tray with all my favorites and set it up so I could have breakfast on the veranda overlooking the ocean. It truly was one of my favorite parts of the day. Traveling alone, I also felt very secure the way the lobby area was arranged and that only guests were allowed up the stairs to the hotel from the shopping area by security. The pool is located on the 2nd floor balcony area and is tiny, but when I was there I generally had it to myself. A great place to people watch! Morning is the best time for sun at the pool, as the building shades it by afternoon. I look forward to staying here the next time I visit Cozumel.

Great hotel, great location, great staff

The hotel is a great location - right on the main strip and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Our room was looking inward so there was no street noise - however we were on the same floor as check-iin desk and it tended to get quite loud early. I would suggest asking for a higher room. There was a ppol but it was on the shopping walkway and not much sun. It was a unique lay-out but not for sun bathing. Breakfast consisted of jiuce, coffee, and a selection of breads. One additional point - you are not supposed to flush paper down the toilets. Takes abit of getting used to... All in all, a really great hotel for the price. Wi-Fi worked in the room, too. I would definitely stay there again.
