Welcome to The Crooked Cabin, a unique haven with a story to tell. Acquired after Hurricane Harvey in 2017, this charming retreat was moved to its present location and lovingly renovated. Originally purchased by George & Elva Mills in 1954 and later by Buddy & Heidi Mills in 2017, this property holds a rich history that adds to its charm.

The Crooked Cabin earned its name during the renovation process, where overcoming obstacles became part of the journey. Despite challenges, the cabin emerged with elegance and grace, adorned with coastal decor throughout its 1700 square feet of living space. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms offer ample accommodation, with custom-built bunk beds adding a touch of whimsy.

Step inside to an open living area, complete with a flat-screen TV, sectional couch, and lounge chair. The fully equipped kitchen invites culinary adventures, with seating for eight at the dining table and bar stools. Wood-finished walls and sliding barn closet doors add rustic charm to every room.

Outside, discover your own private oasis with an in-ground pool and sun chairs in the backyard, perfect for soaking up the sun. A large front porch offers additional space for relaxation, while an outdoor shower provides convenience after a day at the beach. Fire up the charcoal BBQ pit for family cookouts, and enjoy the convenience of amenities like internet, streaming TVs, washer/dryer, and dishwasher. The private pool area has plenty of seating for everyone, and you have the option to heat in the cooler months for $80.00 per full day.

With six parking spots available, including space for a boat, convenience is key at The Crooked Cabin. Located in the heart of Port Aransas, shops and beach outings are just a short walk away, with the beach itself a mere 3/4 of a mile from your doorstep.

Very Happy With Our Stay

The house is in a great location, only being a few minutes to both shopping and the beach. We had lots of parking space, which was a major issue in previous bookings. The personal pool was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much and we will rent again next year!

The Crooked Cabin Is Where It’s Happening!

Had a wonderful time at the Crooked Cabin! This is a beautiful wonderful home that is great for family and friends. Loved the area right in the heart of everything in Port Aransas, close to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and the golf cart rental places. We loved the amenities that came with the house we even had some extra that others left. We left some things too! The property is different and we loved we didn’t have a bunch of stairs to climb. The private pool was wonderful as well! We will be back also!

The BEST HOUSE we have ever rented!

Let me start by saying that this house deserves more than 5 stars, it was amazing. We have been coming to Port A for the better part of 15 years and this house has it ALL. Not only is the property beautiful with a great location it is perfectly stocked! We are a “cooking” type of family and over the years we have learned to bring so much with us from home to be prepared…(Pots, pans ect.) Not in this house, it was overly stocked and so spacious! The water pressure was phenomenal, the AC was a champ, it was over 100 degrees when we were there and the house never struggled. The only hiccup we had was the pool light turned off too early, (8:50PM.) We love night swims with our kiddos and couldn’t see well, but other than that it was 10/10! The only possible thing that could make this house better was including a gold cart in renters fee vs having to pick one up on our own. We will definitely be back, I think we may have found our forever rental..Thank you again to the owners, y’all were so kind and responsive when needed!

Amazing house, great location

This house was just perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved their room with all the bunk beds. The pool was so nice even with the cooler weather. The location of the house is right near everywhere we love to go. Buddy was great with all communications from the moment we booked. He was honest about a small plumbing issue but was quickly resolved before we arrived. My family and I definitely plan to return!

A way to Get Away

House was clean , but pool wasn’t as pictured

I spent a lot of time looking for a house with a private pool. The weather was very hot 100 degrees and the water was greenish cloudy and hot. The water chiller was not turned on. We reached out to the owner , but heard back after our stay . No one wanted to get in the water. We actually asked about the condition of the before our stay as that was an important part of the trip.
