If you want to have top notch with house, restaurants, golf carts and swimming pool with options to enjoy all Port Aransas look no further. Palmilla is one stop for all fun. I will add golf on my next stay.

Family stayed for 4 days in April 2021

Nice property, beds comfortable. Negatives were the building going on next door every day and hard to get in and out of driveway. Also kitchen needs new pans and decent knives as had to buy our own. Property very nice.

Most amazing beach house

The Sand Trap is a gorgeous house in an amazing setting. The house was very clean and had everything our family of 6 needed for a fun and relaxing stay. The beds were comfy, there is lots of room, and the kitchen and laundry were great. It is close to the pool (which was amazing) and an easy walk to the boardwalk to the beach (no golf cart needed). We surfed, played in the waves, played on the beach, swam in the pool, played on the grass and loved the New Year’s fireworks in Port A. Thanks so much for having us!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself is gorgeous! The resort amenities are really nice with a pool, restaurant and bar. We used the pool everyday! If you are thinking of spending long days on a beautiful quiet beach, this is not the place with cars, trucks and campers as far as you can see. Ugliest beach ever!

Property and House were beautiful/ TURNKEY rental agency was a NIGHTMARE

Property and house were beautiful. They did not provide beach towels for a beach vacation... the rental company was a nightmare to deal with. When booked online it said our check in was 3pm. I received several emails with conflicting information. So bad that in the subject it said check in at 3pm but in the body of the email it said 4pm. Standard check in anywhere is 3pm. We arrived at 250pm with a giant supply of groceries to put in the fridge. They absolutely would not let us in. We tried to speak to a manager and they would not budge at all. Completely unprofessional. The house was already clean so there was no reason not to let us in so we could get our groceries put away and head to the beach since it was already later in the day. Luckily we found someone on property who was way more understanding than the corporate manager who should have honored the original check in time. That person allowed us to enter the home without any pushback. I’m not impressed with TURNKEY at all and will most likely not rent if I see them as a managing partner on a listing.

Quick trip - suggestions for improvement

We frequently stay at the Pamilla. This trip we experienced some nicer things that we normally don’t see and some areas of opportunity to improve. We loved the labels on fixtures and the baby oil that can get rid of tar and the two fridges (one on 1st and one on 2nd floor). We love that the thermostat worked really well in the evening on the first floor. It did not do the same on the second floor during the day. Last we loved how comfortable the bed was and sheets to keep you warm. Areas of opportunity, we expect all appliances to work. The TV in one of the bedrooms did not (bedroom right next to laundry). The toilet was mounted correctly and rocked when you sat on it (bedroom next to master). My brother killed two spiders and a roach upon arrival (bedroom next to master). I personally never saw a bug nor did my parents. We had my husband and myself stay in the master suite with our 2 boys (3 year old and 1 year old). However there were only 3 bath towels for that room and not enough for all of us. Again we had a great time and spent most of it near the pool or beach. In the short time we were at this property we didn’t feel the need to call for the owner/ or leasing manager to fix because our trip was just 2 nights. Thanks for having us! If the TV gets fixed and there are more extras (like bath towels and paper towels) then we will stay here again.

Birthday Getaway

Sand Trap is a beautiful home. Everything in the house met or exceeded expectations. The house was decorated very nicely and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, pots/pans, etc. In terms of location, the house is located near the entrance to the community and is a very short walk or golf cart ride to the pool and the beach. ***This was our first time staying at Palmilla. I can't wait to see how the community will look in a few years once it has been built up. There is a ton of construction going on in there right now but it didn't subtract from the beauty of the place in any way. We'll be back!

Beautiful Stay at The Sand Trap

We had the best time at this lovely beach home. It was spacious, clean, and loved all the balconies. They have just about anything you need to cook a great meal too - which was a plus! Close to the pool and beach. Palmilla was a great distance from Port A restaurants and loved the gas fireplace outside.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the moment we stepped into the house we knew we found the perfect spot for our family to enjoy a long weekend in the sun. The home and resort amenities did not disappoint. 3 houses down from the fantastic pool with tasty Paloma’s and a quick drive in our rented beach cart to the beach and we were set up. The home was perfect for afternoon naps and late nights around the big dinner table. There is a grassy shared front yard complete with fire pit (Palmilla had s’mores set up on Friday night, perfect for the little ones). The golf course was 9 holes of pure fun. Short course perfectly maintained with fantastic water views for a few holes, it was a total delight. Best family vacation we’ve had in some time and we are already planning our next trip to stay at this exact place. 10/10!

Enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay overall! This was a nice property and had a great location to the pool and fitness center. I think it would be helpful to have keyless access on the back door at the top of the stairs in addition to the front door.

Beautiful Property

This is a beautiful house with so many great amenities! The booking/check in/check out process all went very smoothly. My family and I felt so comfortable and at home during our stay. Having easy access to golf, the beach, a great bar/restaurant, and the pool was awesome! I would definitely recommend this property to others and hope to return myself!!

We stayed in a two-story house which I don’t recommend for older couples so next time will be a one-level condo for us. We used the amenities such as gym, pool Cabañas, chairs & umbrellas on the beach and catered meals from the restaurant which was very satisfactory.

We loved the beach house. Palmilla is an awesome community. Everyone is asking when are we going back. We loved all the porches and it was decorated perfectly.

Close to the beach

My family and I enjoyed our stay at The Sand Trap. It was a close drive or walk over the dune crossover to the beach. We came for some family time to get away after being cooped up for months due to the pandemic. The house was very clean and had all the necessities to be able to settle in. We brought a lot of groceries to be able cook most of our meals there. The pool was also nice and not too crowded to be able to social distance.
