We were upgraded to a room at the front of the hotel with view of the Liston.
Our room had floor to ceiling windows (left one did not open) with shutters and a balcony - for standing not sitting.
Very high ceiling in this historic building so there was a mezzanine floor to bedroom & bathroom up wooden stairs. This was unique and ok, though ideally, we would have preferred not to have to climb stairs to bed or toilet.
From the hotel information, we had assumed breakfast would be served on the rooftop terrace. This was not the case. In fact, the only access to the restaurant was with a dinner reservation and even guests staying overnight could not access the rooftop unless dining.
We did choose to dine at the hotel and had good food and a good table to take in the exceptional views.
The rooftop terrace is an ace and worth having access. However, if this is being advertised as a key feature, please make clear conditions for access. I feel most guests would expect access to what appear to be communal areas.
