Grand Joanne was a perfect spot to explore Copenhagen. The rooftop bar is cool. Room sizes are typical for the Nordic countries. Well appointed. Great bar and reception area bar. Train station is close but not noisy or dominant. Would definitely return.

While this hotel has some good points, I can’t recommend it. The location is convenient if you're arriving by train or bus and visiting Tivoli. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the negatives outweighed the positives. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the street, and street noise woke us nightly. Higher, quieter rooms seemed available, but we weren’t offered one—possibly because we booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel? The bed was worn out and sagged badly, causing me back pain. My wife found it very soft and overused but wasn’t as bothered. Our 10-year-old son slept on a thin floor mattress that took up nearly all available space. Online photos suggested a proper daybed, which was misleading. Hot water was unreliable, taking 15 minutes to arrive or sometimes not at all, resulting in a few cold showers. At $450 USD per night, this was unacceptable. I’m writing this from a Hamburg hotel costing less than half, with far better comfort and quality. Yes, Copenhagen is a premium market—but in this case, not worth the price. I’d look elsewhere.

Great location

The locations is perfect if you want to explore Copenhagen. Close to Metro and main train station. The room nice amd clean - but the standard room is very small. If you want to stay longer thank one or two nights a larger room is required. Nice bar and nicely rooftop bar - but a bit pricey. The staff very helpful and smiling.

We booked the cosy room which I didn’t realize would be so small but for the price we made it work for two of us (put one of the suitcases in the windowsill). Honestly not a ton of great amenities for the price and extremely small room, the gym was kind of strange and small as well and the rooftop closed at 9:30 which is pretty early. We stayed at Manon Les Suites for the first half of our trip which was only ~$80 more a night and we greatly wish we just stayed there (has an amazing pool, bar that stays open, huge gym, spa, etc.). The biggest cons here are in our room the first night we could hear someone’s TV as if it was in our room and it was midnight already, the front desk woman was awesome though in helping us figure out which room it was but still the walls seem thin despite being concrete? And of course housekeeping walking in on us, pretty mortifying. The second time they did it was at 10am day of checkout which is at 12pm, they cracked the door open while we were changing and slowly shut the door like it seemed as if they were watching us. Super creepy and strange. Told the front desk after the second time thinking the first was an accident, but the second time was obviously extremely invasive. They took off the extra person fee for the room which was nice. I just hope they actually discipline who did that because it ruined the stay for us for sure.

Great Hotel

I had a great (albeit short) visit. The staff was amazing, very kind and accommodating. The hotel is beautifully designed and the room was very comfortable. I had to leave at 5am for the airport and the proximity to the train station would be hard to beat. Very central, would recommend.
