This hotel looks like it’s going to be a great stay; the lobby and restaurant are impressive. We ate in the restaurant for an early dinner and breakfast and both were very good.
However, our rooms were strange. We booked 2 suites, one for our teenage son and one for ourselves. One room was not ready for about an hour and a half (several hours after the check in window opened) so we gave the first room to our child while we had a couple of cocktails. When our “suite” was finally ready, it was much much smaller, quite cramped, and in fact the bed seemed like a strange size. Definitely not a King which is what we sleep in at home.
In the morning, I asked the staff if it was possible that this was not a king bed. I was told that it was listed as a king room, and long story short, after basically being told I was crazy by the manager (!!), we ended up going upstairs with the maintenance man so he could measure the bed. Lo and behold, for some reason the bed was NOT a king, and not a queen…totally random size. I have no idea what sheets they use on this thing but the staff were just as confounded as we were.
The manager on duty absolutely should have apologized for his snotty & incredulous attitude, except he did not apologize nor offer any concession whatsoever.
PS you have to pay for parking, which is ridiculous because the parking lot is the size of a state fair, but 85% empty during summer program check in at Syracuse.
