I informed the staff that my plsns hsve changed and I will be leaving 1 dsy early. I provided adequate time for change (2 days). I was inform the chages wouldn't be an issue, but when I checked out it wasnt honored. I was charged for the entire week. They stated I dind tell anyone! False! Room 2001 has a awful RED stain on the backside of the balcony curtain. Not clean at all! Midnight shift attendant, he was awesome ! He's very helpful and friendly.

Warm and friendly staff with a very clean facility

Pros: Staff - friendly - room and common areas very clean
Cons: Just outside ice patches
Location: Right off highway 401 - Everything is close in Chatham
Excellent stay - one small glitch was an ice patch that I nearly fell on. I contacted the front desk and it was dealt with immediately.

I enjoy my stay very well because they were able to place me on the main floor when they didn't have too and the staff there were all friendly and the place was clean.

OUTDATED, SMELLS OLD AND OF CIGARETTES, AND POORLY MANAGED! We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the last 20 years and we have put up with the smells and treatment that you get at an "economy" hotel. Unfortunately, the conditions at this hotel have deteriorated to the point where we have decided not to use this hotel in Chatham Ontario any longer, especially in light of our most recent booking there. During the last stay, my 18 year old female employee was given the last room in the hotel; a room that smelled old and of cigarettes (the manager agreed that the hotel is in need of renovations). My employee left without using the room whatsoever, and they STILL refuse to reimburse. I strongly recommend steering clear of this rundown, disgusting, smelly hotel. A long time ago, I enjoyed staying here but it is now poorly managed in every category. Shockingly, instead of showing some compassion and understanding, Sheila (general manager) has decided to take my $134 down with their sinking ship. Absolutely shameful of them....but thankfully we do not need them.

Not what I expected from Travelodge

Pros: Well the rate seemed competitive. That's why I booked.
Cons: It needs a complete renovation. I don't think it should be doing business in that condition.
I don't stay in Hotels a lot, but I have stayed in Travelodge facilities before. I have to say this is my worst hotel experience in memory. I've stayed in nicer $49 motels. Good points: Staff members I dealt with were friendly and helpful, that really was the only plus, well, the bed was reasonably comfortable. The bed itself at least looked clean. Bad points: The hotel is in sad shape. It looks like it has needed a renovation for 20 years. Hallway carpets are so worn they are lifting up. And they are not clean. Paint peeling. Filthy windows. When I got to my room the offensive smell nearly made me leave, (mold? Mildew? something) but I didn't think I'd find another place on short notice, and I was running on 1 hour sleep. Was the room clean? I'd say it was tidy, but I'm not sure about clean. I like to take my shoes off and my socks got so dirty the first night, I kept my shoes on afterwards. What else. No security? Outside doors all unlocked. Junk vehicles in the parking lot? I was afraid to eat anything perishable at the complimentary breakfast because I was the only person there (ok 2 other people the first day) and I wondered how long the food had been out. With no guests eating the food, what happens to it? I would never consider staying somewhere like that again. Next time I walk into a hotel in that kind of shape, I will walk right back out again. I'm feeling disappointed that I paid for it, actually. It had the feel of a business going out of business to me.
