Roach hotel

The only good thing about this hotel was the friendliness of the morning front desk lady. Other than that, this was the worst experience ever. The room appeared cleaned as you enter, but the sheets were dingy, the walls had layered of dust, the bathroom had mildew in the ceiling and the toilet was cracked. First night, television was not working. When I approached the front desk personnel in the evening, his replied was very condescending and we saw roaches crawling around. And on our last night. A.C went out until the morning. The floors were not mopped, even though they cleaned daily. I couldn't wait to check out. Never again will Red Roof Inn see me again. I regret not taking pictures of roaches....I was took busy trying to kill them. This place needs a renovation and a new cleaning team.

We were looking for an economically friendly hotel that was fairly close to the PNC Music Pavilion. This hotel fit the bill and I am sure we will be staying there next time we are in town for a concert.

Traveling Solo

Everything was nearly perfect – changed to a room without a refrigerator because the television did not work. Felt very secure, the room was clean, the staff was extremely pleasant and very attentive and professional. This is my preferred hotel. Great location!

Nice staff, horrible facilities

The staff that welcomed us on check-in were courteous and professional. Sadly, that was the only good thing about the hotel. The rooms were very small, out of date, and showed signs of excessive wear. There was no real thermostat in the room, just the under-window AC/Heater that had to be constantly adjusted. The walls were also exceedingly thin. By far the worst part was the bed. The mattress clearly needed replacing years ago. It caved into the middle and neither my wife nor myself slept much at all. And in the morning we were both in a significant amount of pain. The breakfast area was dirty and untidy, and even though there was still over an hour remaining of "breakfast time", almost everything had already been taken and very little food remained. I was able to get 1/2 of a cup of coffee. I would highly recommend selecting another property. I doubt anyone would enjoy staying here.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
It appeared that the room had been recently renovated: the bathroom has granite counters and nice floor tile; shower surround was new. The bed linens were fresh and contemporary. I do no wish the pillows weren't quite so firm. The room is very small, but OK since it was just me. I often travel to Charlotte for family and will definitely go back to this hotel. The hotel was sold out for the weekend, but no noisy guests. I wish they had coffee and hot water available every morning by 6:00 since room coffee is never quite right.
