Stay away for now

House has a significant rook leak in the master bathroom area with water leaking all over the floor and smells like mold. Dog poop all over the yard. We had children at the property. House needs attention to say the least.

Awesome location

Our family of 7 adults had a wonderful time at your VRBO. The house was well equipped, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The location is incredible and surpasses every other vacation rental that I’ve stayed.

Great house

This property was great! It was so close to the beach that our kids and elderly grandparents were able to easily walk to and from the beach. House was spacious and clean. Our only complaints were minor...one of them being that none of the bathroom outlets worked in any of the three bathrooms which made it a little tricky for all of the girls to do their hair but wasn't a big deal. And there wasnt enough trash bags as we had most of our meals at the house and the outside trashcan was full. But again those were minor issues. We made use of the grill and the hot tub and both were clean and worked perfectly. We would stay again!

Nice rental

Our stay was in the middle of a "Pineapple Express" which was cold and rainy all week. However, the house was very clean and very comfortable for 3 retired couples reuniting for the week.

Family Reunion

The house was beautiful just as described:The property manager was responsive when we walked in and the dishwasher was broken. We appreciated the help of the technician and property management. It wasn’t fun washing dishes for 7 during our stay but the weather house and location couldn’t be beat.

A place to gather

Highly recommend this place. It was perfect for a large group to sleep, cook, eat, play games, hot tub or hang out at the beach. I appreciated all of the cooking utensils , the additional fans, outside shower and extra beach towels. Only issue we had was the dryer was not working great. We will most definitely be back.

Labor Day Getaway

The house was perfect for our stay! Four bedrooms, three full baths, on two levels. Outside areas, too. The house was tastefully decorated, nice furnishings, comfy beds, nice showers, well appointed kitchen. Floors and cabinets showed some worn signs, but overall, very nice house, we would definitely go there again. The beach was a very close walk and the village of Carlsbad was also an easy, nice walk. We had a great time! My only complaint is that the house is actually a Vacasa property and I booked it through VRBO, so I paid an additional $322 to VRBO over and above the Vacasa rental fee. Save yourself some money and book it through Vacasa. I felt baited. I am new to using these sites, I learned a Lesson the hard way. Great house, though, so all’s well that ends well!

Incredible Location, Beautiful House....no beach chairs?

Location is amazing! 4 houses from the beach. Clean, great layout/ great amenities (bbq/ hot tub/ w/d). The house itself needs a little TLC. Many power outlets not working, leak by the kitchen sink, mildew smell from sink food disposal, mold in the washing machine, lowest A/C setting is 72 but overall 4 stars. Plenty of towels/ hand soap but definitely not enough toilet paper (6 rolls) or paper towels (1 roll)which was annoying. Biggest issue was Vacasa (mngmnt co). After a stressful day of travel all we wanted to do on Monday was relax on the beach. Went to the garage to grab the beach chairs and nothing. Some beat up umbrellas but no chairs. The listing stated that there were 4 beach chairs available which we eventually noticed were locked in a cage with all of the owners other gear (bikes/surfboards/etc) Called Vacasa and spoke to rep who led me around the property searching with no results. I told him I see the chairs, it's just that they are locked away. He said he will look into it and get right back. 3 hours passed nothing, called again spoke to someone else who said they would fwrd it to their "local" team in Oregon. Never heard back that day. No beach on Monday. Called tues morning was told there is an open ticket and at 9am we'd be contacted. Nothing. Around noon my mother called and pleaded with a rep to help us.30 minutes later our savior, Bectaly came, looked at the chairs locked away, immediately went and bought us 6 beach chairs. Frustrating day and a half...

Family friendly and great location

Loved the house and the proximity to the beach. Just a short walk to the beach and to downtown. The house is spacious, quiet, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great way to end the day. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic spot

House was well laid out, never felt like you were on top of each other. Great outdoor spaces and well appointed kitchen. A very, very brief walk to the beach, which was nicer than we expected. Would 100% book again if we are back!

Beautiful Beach House with Excellent Location

We very much enjoyed our stay at Tamarack Tides! This is the second time we have stayed here. We LOVE the location as it is a quick walk to the beach and easy access to groceries and shops. The home is beautifully decorated and VERY comfortable. The description does not include the 4th bedroom with a King-sized bed that has been added since our last stay (can be seen in the pictures though). A few things to know for future renters, there are four very low beach chairs available for use but one is not very functional. I think I will invest in some good beach chairs for us to bring next time which will make sitting at the beach all day more comfortable. There are several pool towels available for use but I would recommend bringing more heavy duty beach towels especially when you book in the cooler months. I like to be bundled up when the winds pick up at the beach. And next time we will remember to bring a set of cards to play games as there are only a few options for games available here but if you like to read, there are several books available to choose from! One other suggestion for the owner would be additional blankets for use on a cold night, one per bedroom would be sufficient. We will definitely be booking here again if available. Thank you so much for offering your beautiful house for rent!

Beautiful Home

We loved staying at this home. The location is so close to the beach and the house is very spacious. Walking into Carlsbad Village is also a nice walk and our family of 6 did this several times while visiting for 6 days. The exterior shower is extremely helpful and the hot tub was an nice bonus! We would love to come back and stay here again when we visit Carlsbad!

75th Birthday Celebration

If you are looking for a home that is pristine, spacious, well-equipped, comfortable, steps from the beach, true to the pics (I think better), close to restaurants, etc look no further. We thoroughly enjoyed our family time together celebrating my husband's 75 birthday. The patio was so fabulous as well as the hot tub! I commend the family that owns this home and offers it to others as they have truly thought of everything to make for a fabulous visit, We hope to rent it again when the need arises. Also, working with VACASA was seamless - very communicative and easy to work with. Thank you!

Great location and house.

Kitchen needed a few basics like can opener, wine opener, casserole dish, and mixer or whip. Also we asked ahead about the type of coffee pot and didn’t hear so we brought Keurig cups. We would have liked to know ahead of time.

Beach Getaway

The house was clean and worked well for our family. The close proximity to the beach and Carlsbad (restaurants, shopping, farmers market) was great… all within walking distance. The only negative for us (and it wasn’t the end of the world) was the game room (pool table) from VRBO pictures was turned into a 4th bedroom and no view of the ocean as shown in VRBO pictures when we rented. (Not the home owners fault that neighbors built a bigger house.)

Very Nice Overall

Very good accommodation overall. Could be “outstanding” if a few things were taken care of. Proximity to the beach was great…2 minute walk. Property is on a fairly busy road. House is open and bright…with a nice floor plan. Lighting is skimpy in places…could use more reading lamps or ways to brighten the place at night. Dishes were put away dirty, old coffee still in coffee maker, and some old food and trash found under a bed. These are all easily corrected, it just seemed as though the last cleaning job was likely rushed—unfortunately, we were the recipients of this. Also, there was no coffee table (with a fire) on the patio- as shown in the picture…which would have been nice. All that said, we would stay here again.
