We have stayed on this island at least ten times. Maine Deck is the absolute nicest house we’ve ever rented and the experience overall was perfect. Top notch communication before the stay, during check in, with one question we had during the stay and at check out. The house is obviously loved and used by the owners as not one thing was missing. This is not a rental home. This is a family home that the owners let people rent from time to time. From the fully stocked kitchen to family photos, high speed internet, decks on every side of almost every room, games, books and fridges everywhere—nothing was forgotten. The pool and downstairs entertainment area is also fantastic! We loved every minute of our stay and highly recommend it!

Great Family Vacation

This house was perfect for our needs! Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Incredible views! The kitchen is filled with any plate, platter, or, utensil you could possibly need. We loved having our own pool, however it was more like a bath with the high temps we had. The only things that we would add would be hooks for towels in the bathrooms and a railing for the pool stairs. We will definitely look at this property for future North Captiva trips.

Three words….slice of paradise! Don’t tell your friends or family, keep this place a secret! It’s way too amazing to share! Neighborhood, proximity to beach, pool, pool bar, and house all exceeded expectations!! Family of seven will be coming back in the future!

Wonderful property and island.

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at Mainedeck. The house was beautiful and very well designed. We will definitely be rebooking for next year. The only downside was the cooler weather during our stay. The island has done a impressive job of bouncing back from the hurricane Ian. We loved our stay thanks.

Selfishly, I want to give this place 1 star, so it’s available the next time we want to visit. It’s a gem! The home, location and island are perfect. The house was exactly as pictured (very clean and in great condition). Decor, design, layout, and pool area were thoroughly thought through. We appreciated the “extras” to help our stay run smoother and cleaner. The outdoor shower, bathroom, foot washing stations, outdoor bar, fridge, golf carts, pool/sand toys, chairs and extra outdoor games were very helpful. The views watching the sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. This place truly felt like home for the week! Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven with us! We’ll be back.

Elegant simplicity

One of the best properties available on North Captiva. Well appointed house with rooms to gather and all also plenty of spaces to retreat. Everything is brand new. The kitchen is well equipped. My only request for the future is real glass drinkware. At this price point drinking out of plastic (except for the pool area) was a bit of a downer. Will definitely stay here again

Relaxing in paradise!

Our family enjoyed a beautiful week at Maine Deck! The arrival process was seamless and the location of the home was perfect. The pool area is so well done and spacious, (pack extra bug spray if you intended to enjoy during the evening)! The bunks beds are the most comfortable in the house, the masters and queen beds are rock hard. However, that made it very easy to get up and get the day started! It is a perfect hideaway from reality. If this will be your first time visiting North Captiva Island, highly recommend making dinner reservations for Over the Water and The Boathouse several weeks prior to arriving. We planned on eating at both and unfortunately that limited our dining experiences. We would definitely book again and pack much, much lighter! Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home!

Wonderful island getaway!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Maine Deck. The house is brand new and beautifully decorated. It is fully stocked with all the essentials. The property manager is super helpful and is quick to reply to any questions. The house is a short golf-cart drive to the beach (or a 5 minute walk). Highly recommend it!!

“Can we just move here?”

This was a common refrain from the 5 children (and maybe the 4 adults too) throughout the course of the week. What a beautiful home and congratulations to the owners of such an amazing, well thought out space. You can always tell the difference between a rental house and a home that a family rents out. You can see and appreciate the thought put into each space. The kitchen was large and open to accommodate multiple cooks and kids in and out without any collisions. It’s set up perfectly for entertaining and is open to the living room and outdoor screened deck. We loved the pool and deck/bar/game area. We spent so much time outside after the beach or being on the boat. The house has anything you might need, every kitchen gadget, pot and pan and is well stocked with everything- Plenty of towels, toys, chairs etc. We all had such an amazing week and it truly felt like a home away from home. It’s beautiful without being precious and very comfortable for seating and beds. The Maine Deck is a home you wish you could keep a secret but it also deserves to be shared with others. We are so grateful to have had the chance to stay in this new home. Ally and Sean at Shally’s Seashells were amazing to work with, very communicative and quick to respond. They were there to meet us, helped with groceries and luggage for 9 and were there to help us get ready to head home. Thank you all for helping to make our time on the island so special. We hope to see you again next year!

Paradise in Paradise

This home was absolutely beautiful! Not only was is it located in a great location, providing a feeling of privacy surrounded by beautiful plants and trees, but it was an extremely short distance to the beach. All of the rooms were large, spotless, and the appliances were top notch. The outdoor entertainment area left nothing to be desired. It has a gorgeous, clean pool with comfortable lounge chairs, a large bar area with a refrigerator, sink and plenty of storage space, and it hosted several games such as a ping pong table and corn hole boards. Not only did the home itself exceed our expectations, but it was all of the little detils that were so impressive. The owners thought of everything...footwashing stations, hoses on each porch, fans and televisions above the outdoor bar, any kitchen gadget you could need, screened in porches, a basket full of beach towels next to the door, beach chairs, pool floats, beach umbrellas and even a welcome basket. I would highly, highly recommend the Maine Deck to anyone. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to revist North Captiva, and when we do, there is no doubt where we will stay!
