I hated this hotel. It is straight up a cliff-face from Roma St - they need to direct you to get off at Central and catch the bus. Walking from Roma St with a suitcase is nearly impossible. The lift smelt mouldy. I got out of the lift to a very strong food/cooking smell. Then I got into my room and it smelt dank and dusty, and the aircon hadn't been cleaned forever. 3 offensive smells in 3 different parts of the hotel. The hot water was off, the balcony is way too small to be functional or at all useful, and they only have basic television stations. The pool is useless for adults, it's just a splash pool. They have a menu for the restaurant and for room service, but they don't include dietary information, which I'm pretty sure is illegal. The crazy thing is they appear to cater for a lot of different diets, but they don't tell anyone on the menu. Spring Hill is too steep for scooters from the city, so the best tip is to learn about the free buses out the front of the hotel. Of course, they don't tell you this beforehand. This hotel is on the more expensive side, and it's supposed to be 4-star. I was really expecting a nice experience. Not premium - but I certainly didn't expect to hate every aspect of the hotel... except the staff, who were friendly. Perhaps most annoying is that I replied to their feedback email, and received no response to my scathing review.

Mercure hotel is located in a very convenient location in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. Our room had a magnificent view of the city. The quality of food offered at the breakfast buffet could have been improved. However, the cafe had a great vibe and live music at nights. The hotel parking was also a little pricey considering you had to maneuver between pillars to park properly. Overall, we had great experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to explore Brisbane.

Staff not particularly friendly no good morning or general conversation, not very helpful when asking about parking and never mentioned that some areas were reserved. Only 1 yea bag on the room when we arrived so we could not make a drink. Sliding doors to balcony stiff and hard to move and the lock does not work. Unable to access television as it kept coming up with poor signal even with the aerial securely in. No sprinkler system in the room. Bar area shut early so as we were running late on our arrival due to visiting the grandchildren we could not get a meal or alcohol

Business Trip to Brisbane.

No room key when I arrived due to a new system issue so needed to be escorted to my room several times before receiving my own key. No hot water for my shower on the first night but got resolved thankfully. Food at the hotel restaurant was over priced and awful with my meal sent back due it it being frozen in the middle. I received a $4 discount which was quite poor customer service. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the location is great with buses, trains and walking distance into the city. Buffet breakfast was good and the free coffee with breakfast a nice surprise.

We were only there for one night as we were going to a concert . The staff at the bar were extremely helpful as I needed my food that I brought with me heated up as the kitchen was closed and I didn’t wish to order room service. However, I found the Staff on reception quite rude and pretty much ignored me and my question. We ordered room service at 11 pm. It took more than 30 minutes to arrive to our room. It arrived stone cold and the food was absolutely terrible. Not worth $100 that we spent on it at all. The room however was nice and clean. We were on a balcony which we loved. The beds were comfy, especially the pillows. What we paid for the room for one night, however the facilities did not reflect that. I do not recommend getting room service from this place.
