Check in was quick and easy and staff were very professional. A late check out was agreed despite the hotel being full due to the Ashes test match. The location is ideal for walking into the CBD and everything is close by.

I recently stayed at Meriton Suites Adelaide Street and had a mixed experience. While the check-in process itself was smooth, it was inconvenient that there were limited bays to double-park during check-in, especially since there’s no on-site parking available. The off-site parking setup was also inconvenient. I was given a QR code for the off-site parking, but the reception staff entered the wrong exit date. I only discovered this when trying to leave the car park and was asked to pay, despite having pre-arranged parking with Meriton during check-in. It was eventually resolved by the after-hours staff member, but it caused an unnecessary delay to my schedule. Inside the room, the bed was comfortable and the space was generous, but I was disappointed to find mould in the shower and bathroom. The internet was also a bit slow, and at their price point, I expected a higher standard overall. On the positive side, the location is excellent, the room is spacious, the bed is comfy, and express check-out was quick and easy. Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues, parking inconvenience, and the QR code error outweighed the positives for me. It’s unlikely I will stay here again.

Common area in corridor needed basic hoovering. Used tooth flosser found under table. Base of table dusty. Shower had build up of mould on corners of tiles and calcium deposits on chrome. Safe was old and didnt work. Maintenance team didnt turn up for appointed time to fix. Picture of view didnt not match the room allocation on largely residential 2nd floor.

Room had a great view. Floor to ceiling windows with partial bridge and river view. Laundry was great to have. Hotel has many floors and this is a hotel/residence mix with more of a corporate feel rather than a hotel feel. Even with the large amount of units, this hotel/residence was quiet, safe and in a decent location. Not close to the airport and uber runs you over $50 at peak time. Pool is huge but the sauna and hot tub are quite small considering how large the building is. We stayed Meriton Sydney which was smaller but had better amenities. No room cleaning unless you are there for more than 3 days which means you are having to request various items from the front desk ie coffee pods etc. a few cafes around and recommend felons on Howard smith what’s for food and drinks.

The hotel has its positives. It is in an excellent location where one can take advantage of the public transport systems and is in a bustling area with lots of shops, restaurants and a large convenience store right next door. The Bridge is also nearby and the views, especially by the water, are fantastic. Furthermore, the staff were gracious, attentive and very friendly. They delivered lovely customer service with pleasant attitudes and friendliness. I had a midnight flight out of Brisbane upon departure and they took excellent care during the check out process and made changing and showering facilities readily available to me. The major downside I must admit is that for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel, the rooms (or possibly just the room I was given) would more accurately align the hotel with a 3.5 star rating. When I arrived at the room it seemed that either the room hadn’t been used in some time, or proper attention was not paid in dusting down the surfaces - this applied mainly to the bedroom and the laundry unit. The carpets were frayed, the corners of the laundry unit were rusty, the bathroom while largely clean looked very run down which was a huge let down as it was rather difficult for me to feel fully comfortable using the facilities, the cover of the iron board was ill fitted and therefore kept coming off and had to be replaced and overall the furniture and overall look of the suite had a very depressing vibe and feel to it. Nothing about it screamed 5-stars.

I expected more from a property that I took to be first class. I use a face cloth or wash cloth. This hotel did not provide any. Their stated policy is to only replenish supplies after three nights. I was alone and was provided only one small bar of soap to last the three nights and mornings after. If someone had been with me in the room, the soap would have been used up before the room servicing. I also took issue with their elevator (lift) operating system. It’s security overkill, unless Brisbane has an extremely high crime rate, which I doubt. There are no buttons inside the car. You swipe your room key on a panel in the hallway, and the system tells you what floors you have access to. You choose which floor you’re going to and a car number is assigned to you. You can only get where you’re going by taking the assigned car. Think about that. If you’re traveling with family or colleagues, you can’t go meet them in their room if they’re on a different floor. Not unless first they give you one of their room cards and second you take two elevator rides to get there — one using your card to get to the lobby and the second using their card to go to their floor.

The room itself was fine, needing a little bit of a freshen up but that didn't concern us. The bedroom TV didn't work, the living room TV worked but it relies on streaming from your personal phone. The system was glitchy with poor picture quality, lots of dropouts and continually having to reconnect during busy times. The quality to the phone was fine, the issue was in the casting to their TV. The fridge also requires some maintenance. That was not an issue to us but we felt obliged to let them know. The receptionist was busy as we checked out so we used the key drop and sent an email the same day. We chose to not do a review until they had a chance to get in touch. 1 week now and nothing heard. That is the worst thing about our stay, no response to our feedback.
