New designer 4-bedroom house with stunning ocean views . House mom included

Set on the top of the hill this amazing property has 180 degree outlook over the ocean, beach, mountain and valley breath taking views. This is the owners permanent residence built and decorated with care and attention to detail. Hi there ! And welcome to our beloved home.

We are a Spanish / German family of five and this is our house where we live most of the year. We have another house in Madrid where our daughters grew up but we only go there for holidays.

The house is managed by Steve our next door neighbour and caretaker. There is also a cleaning lady and cook Jenni that comes almost every day and takes care of the cleaning. She can cook some breakfast or some basic dishes if you ask her too and provide the ingredients.

There is also the possibility of independence self check-in. The keys are located at a safe key locker by Steve's house. Please coordinate with him. We have intelligent key locks with a code on the garden door and the main door. We will provide you with the codes.

Check in is normally after 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00 but let us talk about your arrival and check-out details as there might be a possibility for early check in or a late check-out depending on other bookings.

There is air conditioning on all the rooms except for the bathrooms and the pantry that is locked as owners closet and only Jenni or Steve have access. Please turn off all the Aircon units when you are not at the house. Once you turn them back on it takes no time to cool the room back again and we avoid wasting energy and generating additional charges for excessive energy consumption.

There are several WiFi networks at the house as we have two providers for network backup in case there is a bad connection.

our house is nested in the top of a hill surrounded by lush dry tropical forest. It is in direct connection with nature and you will immediately be filled up by the beauty of the ocean, the Las Baulas estuary National Preserve area and the mountains in the back.

Being surrounded by nature also means we are so sounded by wildlife: lizards, iguanas, geckos, howler monkeys, deers, jackals, little frogs, large toads, some sneaky snakes...rarely...but mostly bugs and insects. If you are in Costa Rica you should take the opportunity to enjoy that biodiversity.

We try to keep bugs and insects outside the house specially by closing doors and windows specially at night as most get attracted by the lights. We also fumigate all around the outside of the house every two months, but some do get in specially when we open sliding doors and windows to enjoy the natural breeze and a cleaner view of the landscape.

Most insects are totally harmless (despite how intimidating some beatles or locusts may look). Thankfully there are not many mosquitoes at your home but there are some ants that could bite if you step on them, every so often you may spot some scorpions, that are not deadly by any means but sting like a bee, there may be some bees and wasps too and some spiders.

We have never been stung by any of those and they are no plague by any means. You may not even see any, but I prefer to be clear that we are in the middle of the jungle and it is their home before it was ours, so it is impossible to keep them all out. Geckos, frogs and toads eat them so we let them be, specially geckos who are allowed inside the house ( not the frogs or toads but we do spot them in the garden specially at night.

In any case do not be intimidated or frightened by them as they could not possibly spoil the tranquil and luxury way of the house.

SOME SAFETY NOTES:
The sliding doors in the living room and bedrooms all have key locks with the keys inside. Please keep all doors and windows locked when you leave the house and during the night, Costa Rica is a safe country and we have never been mugged or robed in four years that we live here (thank god) but there are frequent cases of petty theft on careless tourist and house break-ins in tourist accommodations when they leave doors or windows unlocked. Thankfully we are in a very quiet and discrete area and we live here permanently . In any case just like anywhere else in the world take care to not leave your valuables in the car when you park or leave them unattended at the beach if you swim or surf. We recommend not to leave your phones, computers, cash and valuables laying around in the house in plain sight from the outside in case someone might be tempted to break in. Thieves here are un-sofisticated and will not normally force their way in if doors are locked or they do not see anything to grab easy and run.

We put a lot of care, effort and dedication to equip and decorate our home, Please enjoy it respectfully and taking care of it as if it was your own home.

Tamarindo town and its beautiful beach is just 1,5 miles away. You can walk but it is a steep road down the hill for half a mile, the way down is fine but the way back is a bit tough. Better to get a gas powered golf kart from the rental place just down the hill (100$ a day) or a car. There are also other nice beaches to explore if you want at 30 minute drive up and down the coast. You can also reach the amazing playa grande beach walking and then taking a short boat ride just across the estuary, that one is the one you view at from the house if you look at our photos.
