My husband and I have been camping, hiking, downhill and xcountry skiing on the Laurel Summit for decades. Everytime, we wished we could find lodging on mountain. So when we found a VRBO house we were so excited. It had incredible 10/10 reviews. We asked a ski buddy to join us because it comfortably slept 6. Nicole, the owner, offered earlier check-in before the big snow of January 24, 2026 began. The driveway and deck were plowed and shoveled for easy unloading at either the side of the house. The temperature was toasty, and upon initial tour we were immediately impressed with how immaculate it was from the shining hardwood floors to the gleaming bathroom tile. I have written less than 10 online reviews in my life, so when I say this house was the cleanest rental I've ever seen, it is genuine. It still felt like a warm mountain house with character unlike condos, but it was spic and span from ceiling to floor. No dirt in the corners, no water spots on the utensils, no stains, even the windows were clean for snowy views! The little community is private with very limited development. We were surrounded by woods and trees, but saw several "neighbors" (some on snowmobiles!) who waved kindly. Being away from "civilization" was a joy because Nicole supplied all we needed to be comfortable. She even made sure with the storm coming that we had non-electric heat and light sources. I risk competition for dates with this review, but Nicole deserves it. Thank you so much!
