This was a horrible experience! Smelly room, broken toilet seat. Changed rooms no better…made reservations for a different hotel immediately… Same i cant get my money back!!

This was a horrendous experience! Smelly room, poor property condition…as i stood in the hall due to the room smelling of cat pee I made another reservation at another hotel… so sad. How do I get my money back?!?!

Property was okay for one night stay it was clean the only problem for someone who is handicapped the toilet was very very low it did have a handrail but I just had a bad experience at another hotel where I fell and broke my ankle from the toilet only thing I would change is put better toilets in

Outside not inviting.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy, bad parking, loitering guests
Everything about the motel was average, there were no cleanliness issues, staff was pleasant it was "okay". That being said I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone that (A) doesn't want their car dented up or (B) Is a female traveling alone. The parking lot is shared and was 100% full with mostly large trucks parked very close together.Most of the motel is filled with out of state "workers" who were congregating outside int he parking lot and in front of the entrance each time we went in and out. They were loud and drinking. Had I not been with my husband I would've left immediately and found another place to stay. As I said, the motel wasn't bad, but the atmosphere assured that I won't be returning.

Howard Johnson

The best thing about staying at the hotel was the receptionist. She was was kind, polite and tryed to be helpful. The first room given to me was a smoking room (I was told there were no non smoking rooms available). The room smelled so bad, there was no way I could sleep in it. After complaining to the dest clerkl, I was moved to a non smoking suite (which stll smelled like smoke).The hotel in general is in shappy shape. The parking lot felt unsafe to me. I was happly to leave the hotel in the morning. I will not go back and I recommended to all to not use the hotel.

tough ticket in BInghamton area

I first tried other Travel website and I guess I was too cheap, so I ended up here. Apparently it is tough to find a bargain on a hotel room in hte Binghamton area. The location was not the greatest and I did not feel so safe in my room because the deadbolt did not seem to work properly. I will say the staff were very friendly and nice. The room was freezing when I checked in and it was an ongoing struggle to regulate temperature. They did not clean my room one of the 3 days I was there. It was not the worst place I have ever stayed and it wasn't really bad, just not great. No refrigerator, which makes my food situation worse. Overall, if I can make a reservation at another chain in the future for a similar price, I will choose that over the Howard Johnsons.
