I have wanted to stay at the White House since it opened and finally had an opportunity to do so. The property itself is beautiful and the staff and service are excellent. However, my room had a very peculiar smell. It was somewhat like rancid Pine-Sol, I mentioned it to my aunt who had stayed there before, and she mentioned that her room had the same mildew smell. I don’t know if it is indeed mildew, or if the air freshener that they use is awful but the room smell was not pleasant. The fitness center was very poorly equipped. There was not a full set of weights. The 10 15 and 20 pound weights were missing. There were no mats and no wipes. I travel quite frequently and this was one of the worst hotel gyms I have ever deen. It was sad. The lobby and check-in experience was very inviting. The food was amazing. I had gone to Cora’s kitchen several times for dinner when I lived on the Gulf Coast previously when I’ve come back to visit. The rooms were just underwhelming and the smell was off putting. I seriously doubt that I’ll stay here again. I will come back to visit the restaurant, but I can’t stay in those rooms again.

My favorite hotel

This is my favorite hotel. I’ve stayed here several times. It is always so comfortable, quiet and just a beautiful property. The bar and restaurant are phenomenal. My only complaint is that at this time they did not room service which they have had in the past. But had had the option to bring my food up or eat at the restaurant and bar. Still a phenomenal stay.
