Neither the owner nor any staff were on the premises. I had to make an appointment to check in so somebody could be there. The Internet didn't work. I contacted the owner, but he said he wasn't around, so just wait a while and it may come on. The TV didn't have a signal because the wire was pulled out of the wall. I tried to fix it, but it still didn't work. There was a certain old-world charm to the building, but it was not maintained well. The walls were full of scuff marks, and there was one small hole in one. The pillow had a case but not a cover, so looking at it from the side, it was all stained. They advertised a continental breakfast, but it was a total joke, consisting of a small basket of toast crackers and jam in the room. No coffee, only tea bags. The spiral staircase was scary to bring a suitcase up, especially since there was no handrail to hold onto. There was a parking lot in front of the place, but I could only park there until 8:00 PM, then had to move my car because it was reserved for only the locals overnight. So I ended up parking a couple blocks away and had to keep running back to add more money to the meter. There was a playground / hangout directly in front of the hotel, and there was noise coming from it all night long. The large shampoo bottle said coconut, but it was green and didn't smell like coconut. It appeared that the owner just kept refilling it with something else. But all the main attractions in the old city were within walking distance.
