We were met by our delightful host Nayla, who spoke excellent English. She had warned us that the shops shut in Axams at 6pm on Saturday and would be shut on Sunday, so she very kindly organised to buy us the basics for breakfast and lunch the next day, which was fantastic. The house is lovely, with so many rooms, it sleeps 12, plus has a basement with drying room and games room, a good well stocked kitchen, 3 shower/bathrooms with plenty of bedding and towels, plus a lovely garden with outdoor gazebo plus a barbecue.
Axams is really well located for exploring the area and with the visitor card you can get the bus for free into Innsbruck, which we did on two occasions or take the bus to Axamer Lizum and then take a cable car up to the top of the Alpes for spectacular scenery and great walking in the summer. There is also a good sports centre with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, three small super markets, two bakeries and other gift shops and restaurants. We had a great holiday!
