I am in complete shock and dismay at my entire experience with this home and its management company.
First, upon walking into the home our family noticed a distinct musty and offensive odor. Upon further inspection, we noticed a thick layer of dust on the surfaces, cobwebs on the lamps and dead bugs on the windowsills. It wasn’t an hour later that everyone in the house was sneezing (fast forward - left with sinus infections that we are still dealing with). We actually left the night before check out because it was so bad. I now know that if this is how a management company inspects the cleanliness of the home, there are bound to be more underlying and more serious issues with the home.
My first mistake was not reporting any of this. I did not want to have to deal with complaining to a management company and instead used Clorox wipes to clean all of the surfaces and bought candles to mask the smell.
After leaving the property, even for an hour, we immediately felt that we could breath better.
After returning home,almost two weeks later, I am being accused of water damage to the master bathroom. I am beside myself with confusion and disbelief. When we left, we left the place smelling better and cleaner than it had probably ever been with absolutely, 100 percent certainty there was no water damage in the bathroom or closet. In short (only 1500 characters) I love Vacations charged me $1100 for damage I did not cause and used me to fix their problem. Disgusting!
