Great Place

The location of this house couldn’t have been more perfect. It was beautiful and peaceful. Wildlife everywhere and within walking distance to a beautiful lake. The house itself was very clean and comfortably fit 8 of us!

I want to start off by saying that overall we had a fantastic time this weekend. The host was very friendly and answered emails quickly. The deer in the woods around the house were a joy to watch in the mornings. The house is a bit dated. It could use a good deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. The pots are very old and the oven looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Quite a few of the dishes are chipped and one of the glasses looks like it had been glued back together. The air vents and shelves are covered in dust. The pool cues in the game room are basically useless as they have pretty much no tips left. On a positive note, the bathrooms were cleaned and the basic paper / cleaning supplies were provided. The fireplace worked great and there was ample hot water for multiple consecutive showers. The dining was really nice, especially with the extended table. There was plenty of room for everyone. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Bargain Price for Bargain Home

Our trip went well, check in was easy. The home was relatively clean. There's no seating in the game room, which was a bummer but we just brought our own lawn chairs to use. There is a hot tub but guests aren't allowed to use it. The neighborhood is clean, quiet and friendly. We would stay here again.

Disappointed

I booked this place for my sister’s bachelorette. The place had an awesome game room, ample amount of beds and a big hangout area. However we walked into a filthy house. It was so disappointing. Everything was sticky, a huge mess frozen in the freezer, hair in the bathroom, etc. We spent a good amount of time cleaning but still felt uncomfortable taking off our shoes in the place. I reached out right away. At first, I was told the floors were just sticky because it was still drying. Once I showed pictures and asked for a refund of the cleaning fee our contact person complied. While he did rectify the situation it was still super disappointing and annoying.

The property was filthy and smelled. Carpenter ants and termites were found throughout house, many in the shower area. We have written an extensive review on the Evolve website and sent many pictures documenting the experience to the management company for review. We contacted the Guest Contact regarding no gas in the gas grill. He told us to go out and fill it. He did get back to us quickly, however, we did not contact him again with any complaints due to that response. We could not in good conscience recommend this property. In fact, we shortened our stay because it was unpleasant.

Amazing Stay, Beautiful Home

This house was bigger than anticipated. Perfect for 10 people. It was so clean and homey. We all loved the vibes of the home and the location. Gaming room was so much fun, had everything you would need. Hot tub was just cleaned upon our arrival too which was a plus. Truly enjoyed this home and would love to come back.

Not happy. Hot tub was dirty and had paint chips in it.

Run down and poorly maintained. Peeling paint on the decks. The whole house needs a good cleaning....baseboards and corners were dirty. The "local" contact never called us back about the filthy hot tub that we could not use. The windows that are broken and do not open. The closet door that is broken. The Clothes washer that fills with water when you are not using it. Finally called VRBO and their conflict resolution team asked for pictures and is contacting the owner and "looking into it" .

Place was ok but we wouldn’t stay here again.

Overall the place was ok, but for the price we’d pick somewhere else. We payed a lot per night and also a large cleaning fee, but had to bring our own linens, clean some messes left behind when we arrived and remove our own trash before we left. So we wondered what the cleaning fee was for. The basement was cold and damp. There was only one useable pool stick for the pool table. The iron didn’t work and the water in the hot tub was cloudy. One bedroom has a closet for hanging clothes, but not one dresser to put non hanging clothes, so they had to go on the floor. There was a large stain of some sort on the sofa. I sent the owner pics in an email when we arrived with no response back. Overall the place could use some touching up and we’ll pick something else next time.

We thought the house was really nice and spacious.

We specifically rented this house for its size, location and hot tub. We were informed a few days before our rental that the hot tub was not working . Other than the hot tub not working it was a nice stay .

House and surrounding areas so much to do up there.

We had 4 adults and two teenagers, we had a little problem with the TV, but after talking to mgmt on the phone, we were able to correct the problem. The place is very nice, the game room was awesome, we couldn't use the hot tub because of previous bad weather in that area. Repairman would be coming out one day this week to make repairs. So who rents after us I hope you get to use it. Would I recommend this place. YES, mgmt was very nice to us. Master bedroom is down stairs with its own bathroom, which really good for me.. The is also a 1/2 bathroom on the 1st floor near the back door. Fire place work well. You need your own wood there is a place on Route 534 it is a Gulf gas station which sells fire wood. Reilly's is were we ate a couple times while we were there which is located on Route 903. We also went to Mount Airy Casino not much luck this time but had a good time. The other couple and the teenagers went tubing on Sat. they said the had an awesome time. Thanks to mgmt..

Amazing mountain house!

What’s not to love about this place? - house is both gorgeous and cozy - hot tub - pool table - plenty of room to spread out, accommodated 3 families with ease - home owner was responsive, and personable Our family is already planning a return trip to this house....you won’t retreat it!

Beautiful home and amenities!

Our family had a wonderful after Christmas holiday at this property. The home is very comfortable and clean. Plenty of room for large family. Best WIFI in any mountain house I have stayed in. Hot tub was clean - game room fun -Would definitely recommend and will stay here again.

Overall great stay

Thank you we had a great stay. The house was overall nice but could use a couple fixes/updates. We encountered a few cleanliness/functional issues with the property when we arrived but at least they were quickly resolved by the management. One issue that was a bummer for us is that we wanted to kayak on the lake, and even bought kayaks especially for this trip, only to find out that only home owners can do this - renters are not welcome to launch boats - which we didnt find out until the last minute. Our answer was to boat at Beltsville Lake (about 25 minutes away) which also had nice swimming etc. but it was just a bummer that we couldnt mostly hang out on the lake that we rented within walking distance of. Our crew really likes the hot tub which worked great but I would recommend coming up with a solution for privacy on the back deck since that other house is right there, and the lights on the back porch are like a bright spotlight on you while you are in the hot tub.

My family and I stayed here and very much enjoyed our stay there were 4 families which included 2 2 year olds and 2 babies . We had plenty of room. The livingroom and kitchen are open so we were able to spend much time visiting and being together . the game room was nice . Great Vacation Stay!

Every year my family goes to the Poconos for our summer vacation, and this year we really wanted to find that "wow" house since something is usually missing at each property we rent. This property was in great condition! It was clean, air conditioned, spacious rooms with an open layout, and had many amenities to enjoy like a hot tub and game room. The owner and property manager were so easy to get in contact with when we had any questions or concerns. For example, when we arrived the grill's propane tank was very low and there was only enough to make dinner for our first night. By the next morning we had a new propane tank brought to the property, free of charge. This was the first time we did not have to purchase our own propane tank for a property. The community that the property resides in is nice because it offers a pool, beach-side lake, tennis courts, boat rentals, and other things we did not have time to explore. The only negative part about this experience was that the community only allows each owner eight passes to use the community amenities. Our house had 10 people staying in it, so all of us could not go to the lake together at the same time. Also, the community does not allow open flames anywhere on their properties, so although aware of this issue upfront, we were bummed that we could not have a bonfire. All in all, this trip was a great time, very relaxing. I would definitely go back and recommend others rent it!

Nice house - needs a little TLC

Enjoyed my stay but was expecting more. Game Room - no seating, ping pong table in rough shape, need new pool cues kitchen floor was sticky- even though you pay a cleaning fee. We had to mop. Hot Tub - Did not use as water was very cloudy, cover was too big for this tub and would need to be lifted of by two people. Interior pads had green stains on them. So basically it is old.

ok, but......

nice big house with plenty of room. basement well equipped with plenty of games, if you can get past the smell of mold. hot tub was so cloudy you couldn't see the seats! kitchen lacking in implements, ie not enough forks and spoons. Quite a few of the pots had been burned by previous renters and not replaced, therefore, could not cook in them. no hooks anywhere, bedroom or baths for hanging extra stuff. house needs an update in kitchen and overall paint would really help. think the price was quite high for this home. again, lots of room if that is all you are looking for. good five minute drive to pool. wearing wristbands was a pain especially for the little ones, it actually rubbed a sore on the littlest ankle. there is no trash service, so you have to load up your stinky trash and take it to the compactor yourself. master bedroom is great, bathroom is really small, no counter space at all. all other bedrooms great size. back porch was wonderful, too bad the seats were beyond uncomfortable with cushions that appeared to be older than dirt! overall, we don't feel that we got our monies worth with this home.

Lovely, spacious, clean, and picturesque getaway spot!

We rented this home for four adults and one child (age 4) for a week in March. Everyone loved it! The owner/manager is responsive and very easy to work with. The home is set in a quiet and secluded private neighborhood; during our stay, very few of the other homes were in use, so the neighbors we saw the most were deer and rabbits. :) The layout of the home is great: one bedroom with a king-sized bed and attached bath on the first floor and three remaining bedrooms with another full bath upstairs. (Half bath is conveniently located just by the back door, closest to the hot tub!) The living room/dining room is spacious and well-decorated, and the game room is awesome! Owners have equipped the home with all the stuff you'd need - from a waffle maker, toaster, coffee maker, slow cooker, etc. in the kitchen to standing fans (in rooms without ceiling fans) to storybooks and family games. Basement is quite chilly during winter, but there is a space heater that works well. Hot tub was a fabulous addition and easy to use, though it does take a while to warm up to the desired temperature (so plan accoordingly). Sun room is not heated. We ran into one issue with the wifi, but again, the owner reached out to us within minutes and helped us troubleshoot so that we were only without internet for about 10 minutes. :) Area restaurants were great, including Terra Cottage (breakfast/lunch) and Boulder Lake Tavern (dinner) about 4 miles away. We spent an afternoon in Jim Thorpe (25-minute drive) and enjoyed cute stores, including a used bookstore, toy store, and clothing/jewelry boutique. We're not winter-sports people and so didn't visit any of the area ski spots, but we would definitely enjoy a return to this great home! Our ONLY complaint was the rudeness of the professionals in the community center/recycling/garbage spot; they went out of their way to be unfriendly, and I was not made to feel particularly welcome. Given that they refer to themselves as an information center, one would think they'd happily provide info! Apparently not. :)
