Cozy and beautiful

What a great vibe for a relaxing long weekend in winter wonderland. It was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The cozy fires were great. Howie was a responsive and attentive host. A perfect stay!

This is our second summer staying at Howie's. It is a lovely property and one of a kind space. Howie is always responsive and friendly. Highly recommend for a family retreat in the country.

Very private, very interesting unique charming home. A little quirky. Beautiful deck with a forest behind, We did not turn on a tv just listened to the trees, the birds and the silence. Slow motion place with everything you need to be comfortable. And more. Totally on slow as we returned to our home. 5 stars…

Mid century modern retreat

This property is one of a kind. We really enjoyed spending time on the massive deck and looking for frogs in the pond. Our five year old had a fantastic time with all the vintage toys and kids' books. Howie was very responsive and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend.

Amazing property, wonderful host

From the minute we arrived, the property absolutely stunned. The house is a veritable museum of mid-century modern architecture and decor, nestled into 10 gorgeous forested acres. There are so many details that it would take pages to describe it, but suffice it to say that it’s unlike anything we’ve ever visited. Our family of four adults had plenty of room to spread out, and the spotlessly clean home had every amenity, appliance, and implement you could ever need or want. Whether grilling on the enormous deck or making pasta in the kitchen, the place invites you to linger, relax, and enjoy the spectacular setting. Close to several hiking areas and nearby towns, there was never a moment of boredom during our 10-day stay. The trails out behind the house are perfect for a morning stroll, and the grounds surrounding the house are colorfully planted and well maintained. With comfortable beds, a full array of games and books, and lots of room, even a rainy day is a sheer delight. Our host was communicative, friendly, and helpful, and made us feel welcome even before we arrived. His periodic check-ins on our satisfaction and comfort were much appreciated. This was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for us, and SO worth the long drive from Texas and Virginia. The memories we made here will be long cherished. It may be trite to say, but we really didn’t want to leave, and we would excitedly return should the opportunity present itself.

Wonderful place for adults and children alike

Beautiful property with a forest and a pond in the backyard. Very comfortable flow from outside to inside. We enjoyed the huge deck and spent endless hours by the fireplace. The house inside is quite unique, we felt as if we were on a set of one of the older James Bond movies. All of us: adults, teenagers and kids had awesome time and something to do. Howie is a wonderful host! Would love to come back again in summer.

A view from the Tree Canopy

Outstanding stay in the property. An exquisite home, equipped to the teeth. We loved sitting outside on the huge deck up in the tree canopy, around the fire stove, and inside in the spacious super comfortable living room with all the amenities. Our host Howie was EXCEPTIONAL. He responded to every text immediately and provided assistance when needed. It accommodated 2 couples with large comfortable beds. The other 2 bedrooms are more suited to young children. Had the best stay ever.

Relaxing Holiday home.

What a fantastic house! Loads of space and great facilities. Very clean and a pleasure to stay in. Comfy beds, great TV and good bathrooms. Just over 30 mins to outskirts of Toronto. The best bit about the house is the fabulous design which is exactly as the photos depict. The chipmunks and squirrels were very entertaining. Comms with the owner were excellent. A minor issue was resolved immediately making our stay much more enjoyable. Highly recommended property in quiet area for families and alike.

Relaxing Stay, great location

My family and I had a great time on our vacation. The location is perfect for enjoying the outdoors and just a short drive to the city to enjoy some tourist attractions. The house has a beautiful layout and has everything you could need. The owner was very nice and helpful. 5 stars!

Midcentury modern oasis on a hilltop in farm country

This was the most beautiful house I have ever stayed in. So much space and light inside and out. Gorgeous deck and landscaping. Conifer groves and waterfalls. Trails right out the back, and quiet country roads to walk, or try the rail trail in Tottenham. Make a pilgrimage to see the Group of Seven at the McMichael Collection. Like this house, it has stunning art and surroundings.

Perfect Country Retreat for the Fam

Howie's house in incredible! It's aesthetically beautiful, with authentic mid-century design (think Don Draper meets The Brady Bunch). We found the layout to be perfect; kids slept and hung-out downstairs, meaning the adults could actually relax and socialize upstairs. The deck is one of a kind! Spacious, well furnished and appointed, with a truly spectacular view. The house was spotless when we arrived, and everything we needed was there on-site. Howie was communicative and kind and has done a superb job of furnishing and designing his truly remarkable home. We'll be back!

A perfect getaway from the city!

Everything about our week at Jessica and Howie’s country home was fantastic. It’s almost impossible to summarize. But if you’re looking for a unique and warm but also grand mid century modern home, this is it. The house itself is beautifully decorated and furnished. There are so many things to do there - from shelves full of games and puzzles and all sorts of kids’ toys, to musical instruments, a full-on “Mad Men”-style bar, a sauna, a fully stocked kitchen, acres and acres of trails, a pond filled with frogs to play with, and a deck the size of a yoga studio - you just can’t get bored here. There are also countless activities in the area, a short drive away. And to top it all off, Jessica and Howie are super responsive hosts and make you feel totally comfortable and at home in their beautiful space. Highly recommend this rental and can’t wait to visit again.

Peaceful, relaxing stay

We spent a peaceful and relaxing week at this property and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to escape the city and spend time in a beautiful, unique property emerged within nature. The house is close to all sorts of activities including breweries, restaurants, hiking trails, provincial parks, etc., and has all the amenities and more you want for relaxing days in like a nice gas range, cable, plenty of living room to spread out in, musical instruments, books, an office, etc. The porch is giant and you can easy fill the day reading, sitting in the sun, and walking the beautiful gardens. A wonderful place to get away and recharge your batteries.

Amazing Place!

This was a great place and I will book it over and over again for sure. It suited every age group in our family, from games, to deck badminton, fire place on the deck at night for some great laughs and stories. Jessica and Howie were very easy to reach and communicate with. The house is a beautiful architectural adventure in every room. The kitchen is fully loaded with everything you would need and more. We all felt as if it were our own home after our 3 week stay and it was sad to leave. We will be back!
