The hamlet of Maidencombe is Torbay’s most rural and scenic area with a backdrop of farmland stretching down to the wonderfully rich Devon sand stone cliffs which over look the sea and Lyme bay. Maidencombe’s coastal pathways are enjoyed year round by many on holiday and are maintained and managed by the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust. Maidencombe has always been popular to visitors who appreciate nature, views, walks and the country style of life. Being so close to Torquay Maidencombe is the perfect place to get away from the noise of the busy town but still be within striking distance for anything that might take you there giving you the perfect combination of peace, quiet and convenience. We recommend bringing a car if you are likely to be going into Torquay although there is a bus stop just at the top of the road which is less than a 30 second walk. If you are a keen walker there are many accessible footpaths to explore on foot in the nearby area and a steep walk down to Maidencombe beach.
