It was advertised as b&b, it was just a room with onsuite, only cleaned 1 of the 3 days booked.Reception was only manned after 11am & often no-one was there. The surrounding area was run down & a cafe for food was a good 5-10 minute walk but brilliant service with a smile and huge quantity of great food.

we were very happy with the hotel , our room was at the top it was quiet and warm and a decent size .The hotel was in 10 mins walking distance from the town ,Castle and cathedral , we came to vist the Victorian Christmas fair. The gentleman on the desk was very friendly and polite. The only down side was the surrounding area was it was dirty and rough , but we did not let this spoil our vist

Negative - check in was 3pm which is a lot later than other hotels - the room smelled like cigarettes, not sure if this was a previous visitor or from an adjacent building - the shower head hook was broken - there was a stain on the wall - the side tables was nearly hanging off their screws - tv had no aerial connection Positive - the staff were as friendly as they could be - a few minutes from the train station and just across the bridge from Rochester - best price I could find in the city
