 Secluded  "cabin" literally ON the black river - you can't get any closer!  This rough and rustic property is great for guests looking for a true Michigan woods experience but especially the water lovers - 4 Kayaks and 2 Canoes are included in your stay so you can enjoy the river.  Great for relaxing by the river, fishing, hunting, and enjoying the local Northeastern State Trail which is known for great walking and cycling.  There is over 600 acres of state land nearby that can be used for wildlife sports and activities nearby. 


The area also features amazing local four-wheeler trails, great local Black Lake Golf Course, and Onaway Speedway for those racing enthusiasts.  This property is a great central location for many northern Michigan tourist destinations like Roger City, Cheboygan, Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Island, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Gaylord, and Indian River. Black Lake, Black River, Mullett Lake, Burt Lake, Ocqueoc River,  Cheboygan River, and more. Great local restaurants like Woodwinds and Manzanas.

Up North Gem
We are kicking ourselves in the rear for only booking this place for 3 days. We visited Michigan for 11 and if we could go back and book this for the whole time we would. My husband fished from sun up to sun down - well, past sundown... it's so nice having the dock just feet from the home. We spotted a buck going for a little swim, tons of birds, and he caught some beautiful fish, (all released for the next visitors!). Can't forget the turtles too! It was great to watch the geese hang out on the island. The Blackstone grill was so fun to cook on, now I have to buy one. The layout of the house is fantastic, especially for large groups. It's basically two houses in one. There are two kitchens and two living rooms. Upstairs has killer views and downstairs does too! The house isn't fancy, but the beds are comfy and we felt at home. No wi-fi no problem, with the kayaks and canoes we never got bored. No neighbors either, you can only see one house pretty far away. We will be back, hopefully, you guys save some time for some of your earlier renters because we never want to stay anywhere else! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Family trip!
So peaceful. Check in and out was easy. Great for a large family. Best part no internet so the kids had to enjoy the place. We caught our dinner one night and a huge snapping turtle….. when fishing watch out for turtles they are everywhere!!
