Upon arrival there is no front desk and no one to assist with issues. The bathroom had mold in the shower, the carpet was rolled up at the entrance to the room (which we tripped over), the ceiling fan was filthy, and the tv could not be seen from the bed. On our second night an alarm went off in a neighboring room at 1am and blared for an hour and 15 minutes. People were banging on their door (of an empty room) and eventually I called the reservation number. They answered after countless rings. No one came to shut the alarm and it continued from the time I called till 2:15am. Absurd.

The new owners did a great job of renovating. Nice breakfast buffet. Not much hot water for showering in our top floor room.

Room was nice and clean. Bed was super comfortable. Area is nice. Beach and boardwalk were gorgeous. Continental breakfast was great! Lots of options. Stairs to get to your room are very steep and narrow so if you have difficulty with stairs or accessibility issues, I would refrain from selecting this hotel. Also there’s no signage on the hotel, except for a piece of paper taped to the front door that has the name of another hotel on it - this was very confusing when I arrived and had to call a phone number to check in. Overall my stay was good. I work in customer service and this place could use a little more personal connection or customer service.

What a gem of a ocean front property
What a gem of a place to stay. With its unique decor and atmosphere, it is very enchanting. I booked this stay for a business trip and was happy with the stay. The only negative was the double room booked with the ocean view was on the top floor with a very narrow and steep staircase. Not at all suitable for anyone with physical challenges or uncomfortable with stairs.
