Look elsewhere.
I'd not call it a hotel. It's an old five story building with upper floor rooms being given as hotel rooms. The area was pitch dark at night -- I had to use cell phone flash light to find my way. The elevator was stuck on the fifth floor one night; had to climb the five floors. The room was clean, but not comfortable. Very springy low quality mattress. The breakfast was not worth waking up for. Skip it if you want any degree of comfort during your stay.

We enjoyed the sense of independence. We had keys which allowed us into the property and our floor. A very friendly reception when we arrived. Great breakfast.

Grand old traditional building in Munich centre
We chose this Pension for the happy combination of an elegant central location and affordability. The historic building is a short walk from the Universitat metro stop. It has a lift, though a few stairs at the entrance. Our room (no 36) had a bathroom with shower, high ceiling and quiet rear outlook with window. There is no kettle, fridge or microwave, but there was a bottle of water each in the room and a Lidle for grocery supplies a couple blocks down Leopold Strasse. Breakfast is a selection of cold items, tea & coffee, in a breakfast room. You get a key to the property which allows you to return at night. They were kind to let us stay longer than our 10am checkout while waiting for friends to meet us. We would definitely stay again.

Property manger did a great job communicating with us. Breakfast was delicious and offered coffee, milk, water and tea. She even was kind enough to provide us with a universal plug for our American cellphones. Property was so close to everything, just a walk or train ride away. I honestly wish I had paid for a room with its own restroom. For sure next time I will invest into a room more than the economy one. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel had plenty of charm and was closely located to the metro. Two stops from the Marineplaz (walking distance). The area is very close to the English Garden with easy access to other main attractions in Munich. Price is very affordable for night and the breakfast and WIFI included are a great plus. Tanja as the owner does everything to make your stay comfortable and welcomes everyone/everyday with a big smile. Book the hotel, you won't regret it

Very old fashioned, shower wouldn’t really come warm. Lots of spooky dolls around and no hot breakfast. Pillows not worth it either as so thin!!

Es war in Ordnung, nur: der Frühstücksraum war kleiner als unser Zimmer. Die Gäste saßen etwas gedrängt, das Buffet war a. d. Rand "gezwängt". Es gab drei Toiletten auf unserem Flur, so war immer eine frei. Bei besonders gefallen fällt uns nichts ein.
