"The Getaway" was just that! Our favorite parts of the property include the awesome back deck (with plenty of seating ... three tables with chairs) and hummingbird feeders. So adorable.
The teens loved the basement that had couches, a TV and a pool table. The kitchen was well-equipped for heating up the pre-made meals we brought, and there was a pantry area which we filled with our groceries. Loved that we didn't have to pack the Keurig and creamers, as well as s'mores sticks and snacks.
There were several other nice touches around the house, like games, books, luggage racks, small fans for each room, and everything was easy to find (like extra toilet paper, towels, etc).
The house is only half mile from town, so if you are able-bodied, you can walk down the hill for a cookie, groceries or to the restaurant.
A few notes for the property manager: The listing says there are two bedrooms, but we were happy to find the third bed in the loft! We had brought several air mattresses for the kids but didn't need them. That should definitely be updated!
Also, we had some trouble with the road up to the property. In fact, we got a bit stuck. A warning to others that if it has been wet, muddy, or even if you just have a smaller vehicle (without 4WD) you will really need to gun it up the hill. Our car was heavily laden and it was quite an adventure. Plus, there are several blind corners going to the property so be careful!
A couple other notes for future guests:
- There is really only room for 2 cars max. Don't bring more!
- There is a "firepit" but it's a propane type, there is no place to build your own fire. So, s'mores are made over propane. Still nice, just FYI.
Thank you!
