Enjoy the entire log house! This historic log house was built side by side as 2 individual houses in 1820 and 1840, of logs hand hewn from local timber. As with nearly all cabins of the day, when the owners became more prosperous in the late 1800's, the cabins were joined with a central hall, and became one house. Large logs remind one of the difficulty in preparing a home in the early 1800's. Trees had to be felled, then squared up, and stacked like Lincoln Logs.
Feel like you were living in the 1800's, however you'll have this era's comfort of a queen size bed with great mattress, organic cotton sheets, and a full new bathroom and kitchen!
This log house is a great location for skiing at Massanutten, traveling in Shenandoah National Park, hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, visiting your children at James Madison University, or traveling through the Shenandoah Valley.
Wifi is speedy Comcast. Located 4 miles away from Massanutten Resort, and 9 miles from JMU.
