Amazing Sunsets on the Gulf
The resort is slightly dated, but the room was spacious and convenient to the clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The beach was pristine. The staff was courteous and worked very hard to resolve the minor concerns that arose during our stay. If you are looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day then this place is wonderful. the resort was quiet, though it was a holiday weekend, there was no trouble finding plenty of room on the beach.

Ready to go again.
The suite was very spacious, and a great design for our family with older children. We had tennis court reservations each day and played for hours at night as well. The beach and water were perfect. Easy to get over to St Armand's for dinner each evening. We're ready to go back.

I really want to go back. Right on the beach.no crowds,perfect beach. Hotel provides chairs & towels at no charge. We rented a Kayak from our hotel. That turned into the perfect Dolphin tour. Dolphins swam under our Kayak. three little Dophins played around use. We were very quite. Warm water with little fish playing around us. Found some good size shells. Hotel room cleaned every day, even dishes were put in the dishwasher for me.August is a great time to go. Can't wait to go back!

this hotel the colony NO NO NO NO
The Colony Hotel is as close to a beat up motel as I have ever experienced. From the first day at the reception. No greeting, no one to take you to the sight, When I entered the rooms it was old and dingy. The bathroom from 30 plus years with a sliding glass door that need to be pushed. Towels very old and hard to the touch. The beach, their was not a single sole to give you an umbrella or anything else. Chairs old and dirty. In a word a dump

Needs Renovation
The room needs immediate renovation, the price that I paid for the room not meet my expectations, too expensive for the conditions of room, although when I requested repair they answered right away. Was my second visit I don't think that I come back again. On a good note, the location was great, just a few mins from all the restaurants/shops, beach was amazing - you could walk to the beach from your room.
