About this property

Glamp in luxury safari tent with outdoor bath. Connemara near Aran Island ferry.

If you would like to camp but want a proper bed then this is for you. Suitable for couples, friends and families with children 8 and over.We offer glamping for softies under canvas in spacious safari tents (11m x 5.4m) but with all the comforts of home and room to all spread out. Our four tents each have 3 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 adults in comfort (our bunk beds are 4ft wide). All tents have en-suite bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with hotel quality beds, linens, towels and electric blankets. Each tent has its own living/dining room and kitchen area with 2 ring induction hob, and fridge freezer. Sit back and relax on your verandah with a glass of something chilled and enjoy the distant sea views. There are USB points in each tent to charge your devices.

Our four safari tents at Connemara Glamping are all internally the same and are named after local birds which you may see around depending on the time of year.

An Spideog ( Robin) has a private, outdoor, wood-fired Boheme bath suitable for two adults on its own deck a short distance from the back of your tent. Soak in the tub on a clear night under a star filled canopy.

We are in the perfect location in the heart of Irish culture. Irish is the first language here in South Connemara. We have lots of outdoor space, and a communal fire pit for star gazing nights. We are a short walk to a safe, sandy beach - take our portable BBQ and cook dinner to the sound of lapping waves. We have great walks and on-road cycling. There are off road cycling trails, fishing and golf courses within a short drive. We are less than 5 minutes drive to the ferries or plane to the Aran Islands (a 7 minute flight). Our local cafe, Pota, is Ireland's top cafe for 2022 and made the Irish Independent's Top100 Restaurants in Ireland.
Come and explore - there's too much to do to list here but it's less stressful to stay in one place and have days out. We are in the perfect location for day trips into Connemara, or the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Kylemore Abbey, Patrick Pearse's cottage, Connemara National Park, Clifden and the Sky Road, Killary Fijord, Cong, and Ashford Castle can be combined to make several days out. If you fancy a beach then a trip to Roundstone and Dog's Bay is in order. In the other direction Galway with its restaurants, festivals, bars and live music is a 35-40 minute drive. You can organise an electric bike tour for your group from the site with Fat Bike for a slower experience.
There's something for everyone - from romantic breaks way, to groups of adult friends and families. We're always happy to give you some ideas for an itinerary or try and help you source whatever you need.

Wonderful stay in Connemara!
The tent was beautiful, cozy, dry (even while it rained), and full of charm. We enjoyed the comfy beds, warm duvets, and fully stocked kitchen. Enjoying the blue super moon from the front porch was an added bonus! Janet was a lovely host. Very easy to communicate with and the thoughtful touches like leaving basic supplies and homemade lemon cake were so appreciated as we had just arrived in Ireland. Michael was also so helpful and full of great information from local walks to great fish and chips to help with the bonfire. Would definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends. And of course we all enjoyed visits from Riley, their sweet pup!!

Thrilled
We were a little cautious about staying with Connemara Glamping given usual Irish weather, but could not have been more pleased. Near daily rain including a few good storms didn’t get past the tent. The electric blankets and mattress covers took away the occasional chill at night. Everything was clean and comfortable. A great stay.

Private, relaxing, great location!
Truly a unique experience! We loved the opportunity to enjoy the Connemara wilderness while staying in a very comfortable and pleasant place. The tents were well appointed, sturdy in the rain, and quiet in the wind. The screen windows allowed us to control the temperature, keeping it cool despite the summer heat wave! Additionally the summer light lasts forever (dark ~11pm in June), allowing us many lovely hours on the patio enjoying the pastoral view. The kitchen is functional. Plenty of seating. The tent "rooms" can be opened or closed as needed for privacy. The bathroom was spacious, modern, and fully lit and heated. They did a nice job providing improvised lighting in a campsite environment. There were solar lanterns and creative fairy lights. The location was perfect for exploring Connemara and avoiding the Galway traffic. We were easily able to get to Ashford Castle, Aran Islands, and the NW of Connemara (great tours at DK Connemara Oysters and Killary Sheep Farm). There are several pubs scattered nearby & the late sunsets made driving up until 10-11pm easy. Janet and Michael were respectful of our privacy but communicative and prompt to respond to our questions via text or in person. All in all, a completely wonderful, memorable, and relaxing stay!!

What a fun experience
We had such a great time here. We were here for 5 nights. It’s a great location for exploring. We took day trips and came back to relax at night. Janet left provisions for us knowing that we would arrive late in the evening. If you’re game for comfortable accommodations different from a motel or hotel this is it.

Words alone are not enough for this lovely experience!
What an amazing few days. Ireland is spectacular. The safari tents are beautiful inside and the view is amazing. The owners are caring and attentive with great communication and advice on local activities. Klymore Abbey is a must see and an easy drive in the heart of Connemara. If you are looking to unplug in a peaceful, romantic setting then this would is a must do.
