Did not get the room that was booked
Booked Sky View Two Doubles with Kitchen as flight got cancelled. Walked over 15 minutes later and was told at the reception that this room was no longer available. Was told to either pay up for an upgrade or settle for a room with a single King bed. We were too tired to argue and needed a place to sleep for the night. I think the reception just took advantage of our situation and gave us something lesser than what we paid for. Wondering if I will get a refund for the difference. Of course the rooms are dated and out of touch.

When we went up to the room and realized the AC was out, I called the front desk and they were quick to move me to another room. They upgraded my room for the inconvenienced. They were awesome!! Not much of an upgrade but it was something to show good customer service.

This hotel was what I was expecting for the money paid in comparison to other hotels in the area. I paid a 3 star price and the reality is that it is a dated hotel in a good location and priced appropriately to be classed as a 3 star property. If you want beachfront 5 star accommodation then pay 3 times as much and stay at the Hilton or Sheraton, At the Ohia the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of shopping and eating options on the other side of the road, the bus stop was 1 block walk away and the beach 2-3 blocks walk away. I was happy with my time and would stay again I was seeking a budget option on another visit to Honolulu. The resort fee didn't impress me but I was aware that the cost was pending when I booked the room, the snack pack supplied was a nice touch and was handy, Staff were pleasant in the dealings I had with them.

Most staff at reception are very efficient but not friendly at all, salvo the tours lady who was lovely. The rooms need major cleaning on the carpets and upholstery. On the good side, it is very centrally located with all conveniences around the hotel. You get what you pay for and in that regard it i a very good value for your money.
