Cupleanos vacaciones
I turned 50 while here. They welcomed me like family and even gave me a birthday celebration with their friends and family. I could not have felt more blessed to be with amazing hosts. This is the spirit of the hotel and island. I would stay here every time.

Property in Bad Shape for Price / Owner is Rude
1- I went at the beginning of Jan (the summer) when it gets really hot in the city. Note that this property has no AC. 2- I stepped on two roaches during the night while walking to the bathroom. 3- Property full of chickens... lots of noise...compounds the roaches problem. 4- Property need serious maintenance; doors are hard to open and some are falling apart. Left after first night and owner wanted to force me to complete my stay or fully pay for it... even with all these issues. I was lucky I chose the option of "Pay at Hotel"; otherwise, owner wasn't going to refund for the nights I left. Her staff, on the contrary, was outstanding... they worked around the clock to improve the situation even when there wasn't much they could do. This hotel would be worth it on the less than $100 price range as the island lodging is expensive... super overpriced for the accommodations offered based on other hotels I went to see so I could switch. Moved to Hotel Ohana Rapa Nui for a few dollars more and had an amazing time (high end by island standards: beautiful/AC/no roaches/outstanding staff... wow, what a difference).

Joseph and his wife are lovely. He picked me up at the airport with a beautiful lei. The motel is small and on a residential street a few blocks from Downtown. The room is bare and minimalist. Bed, small fridge on stand. No phone. No decor. Bathroom is large but run down. Hair dryer plug didn’t fit in outlet so couldn’t use. No hot water for shower. Outlets didn’t work to charge phone. Joseph didn’t answer his doorbell. Breakfast was good. Lots of cats, dogs, chickens, wild horses walk down the street.

Really great place to stay in Rapa Nui. The people who work there are really nice. I want to call out Gabriel and Erica who were very attentive to my needs. I got sick so he helped me find soup and it was really good. They also helped me with rides to and from the airport. The showers are nice and hot and there is a ton of privacy and quiet for those who like that. Recommend this place!

The property was consistent with all of the properties in hanga roa. What made the property unique were the managers of the ecolodge. They took whatever action to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The location allowed for easy walks to dining and recreational opportunities. I think anyone who chooses to stay here will not be disappointed.

Instead of feeling like a guest, I felt like part of a family. Gabriel and his wife Maria Rosa went that extra mile to make me feel at home. Gabriel took the time to show me around town and he was always willing to help me in any way I would ask - not to mention he really has a very good grasp of Rapa Nui history. Honestly, I dont really know why anyone would stay anywhere else. Rooms were cleaned everyday, hot water, and the hotel has a wonderful patio. The hotel is within walking distance to everthing else in town.

The roosters are up you'll be sure to be woken up by them every morning! I couldn't quite understand why there were so many chickens on the property but yet you got no eggs at breakfast That's odd isn't it?
