Had a problem and called the front desk. The person said they would call back and never did. After 15 minutes we called again and she hung up on my husband. We called again and received the answer that she didn't know then click, hung up on again.

Loved the views of the Grand Canyon from inside Thunderbird Lodge and just outside. The only thing we were disappointed with was the lighting outside the building and the lack of parking adjacent to the facility.

NOT WORTH THE PRICE BY ANY MEANS

Pros: Location to the rim.
Cons: Virtually everything other then it's location. Fire the entire staff and hire and train new people who care about their job and their customer.
Location: Walk the rim of the Grand Canyon and tour the area.
The Grand Canyon rim is right behind the hotel and that was the reason we stayed there. Being able to walk outside and see the sunrise was fantastic. It was snowing and very cold but still beautiful. As for this grossly overpriced, kind of rundown, overused, drab pile of brick with filthy carpets and it's don't really care staff, well it was a big disappointment to say the least. From the check-in to the check-out, to the lack of service in the restaurant you had to remember why you selected this dump. Proximity to the rim. The owners/management of this group of hotels on the rim should be ashamed of their facilities and staff. If they were any where else they would be out of business for all of the right reasons. You would think that the Park Service would step in and require them to shape up. What a disgrace. At half the price the hotel would still be over priced.
