Not so "Cozy Haven"
Shortly after making a payment for this property, we received a note from the Host saying the property was ‘unavailable,' but that they had another unit in the same building. Having made the booking last minute and being in the “no refund” zone, we decided to take the offer.
From there, we were taken down a rabbit hole of miscommunication. Attempts of the host to funnel all correspondence through the VRBO online chat became problematic because key information was redacted. VRBO contacted the Host so that we could gain access to the property. Upon being given the apartment number (the unit was open with keys on the table) it was apparent that no one had checked the apartment before renting it. If they had, they would have seen the 100+ dead (some living) drain flies, that were in every room, dirty laundry on the balcony and dirty bath towels. Ironically, we received a food delivery (it was the correct address) 10 minutes after our arrival.
Taking into consideration that this property is managed by the same Host, I would proceed with caution.
