Pats Place sleeps up to 14 people (strict adherence to occupancy limits please)
Pats place has two Master Bedrooms, each with their own entrance to private areas attached to the main deck.
The Main deck has a large cover, a gas grill, table, fans and lighting.
The main deck is high up in the tree canopy. It sets 50 or more feet above the lake, the lake is less than 100 feet away.
As you might imagine, this makes for incredible views as well as near constant breezes.
When people look over the edge of the main deck rail, it is not uncommon to see one's jaw drop in amazement. It is truly a sight to behold, simply massive amounts of decking and dock areas.

The cantilevered deck that hangs over the side of the "cliff" always draws a lot of attention. So many places to hide away and enjoy a good book or a little "me" time with a tablet and a cup of coffee,.

As you head towards the normally cool spring fed waters of Houston county lake you'll walk past the fire-pit and it's paver patio.
Continue on and you'll see a large dock area with a cabana, the perfect for enjoying some sunbathing, or perhaps a game of cards, there is a boat slip & kayak house , a fish cleaning station and night lights for fishing. Of course the cabana with fans is a great place to sit while the kids kayak and enjoy a swim.

The outside is so awe inspiring, it is easy to forget the inside of Pats Place, it is certainly worthy of description. The home is built of a fairly steep hill. When I built it I was told by others there's no way you can build on that lot. They were wrong, it was a project but it worked out to be a stunning display of decking. When you walk into Pat's the large upper area is the main area while you walk downstairs to the lower level. Kids seem to love the lower level.
As you walk in the front door there is a room with a card table and a sitting area for those times you want some "alone time".
Tied into that area are the washer and dryer, they can be closed off from the main home.
The home is very open and large in it's feel. The kitchen has granite counter tops with an island that is extended to add more dining or socializing room in addition to the bar top behind the sink peninsula. The built in refrigerator is complemented with a smaller island fridge for the kids drinks or adult beverages. Local catering is available upon request (advanced notice required) for those who want to take the night off from cooking.

The living area has two couches as well as two chairs. The kitchen bar is situated so larger groups can all converse with people in the L.R.
As you go down the stairs to the game-room there are two futons
There is a full bathroom connected as well as a beautiful outdoor deck with a picnic table.
What may be one of the nicest features of Pat's Place interior are the two Master Bedrooms, each with separate bathroom. As mentioned each bedroom has a 6' door to it's own deck area, as well as table and chairs.

All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans and all linens.

Bedroom 3 and 4 are queen beds.

Bedroom 5 is a double lower bunk with a twin top.

The game-room can easily be its own semi private bedroom. It has its own bathroom as well as two futons that are best for children.

All of our homes have no carpeting. With cleanliness and allergy issues we felt it was healthier to tile and install wood style laminate throughout the homes.

Great Venue!
This house is as great as it looks online. Perfect for our guys' trip--relaxing, fishing, shooting the breeze. Would rent again.

Will return!
This is such a Texas hidden gem. It was a perfect location - we rent homes all the time all over the country and this is probably one of the only ones I truly want to return to when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the lake even more. It was perfect - we had 7 kids and 5 adults (kids were age 6 - 14).

unsanitary sewage and unsafe living conditions
We were in town for a family funeral and ended up dealing with pumping issues all weekend. The master bathroom had clogged drains and toilet. After multiple attempts to resolve it, we finally just turned the water off - the bathroom was unusable. The downstairs bathroom spewed sewage up the drains, into the bathtub and onto the floor and walls that had to be continually mopped up each time someone flushed upstairs The host insisted the pumping is fine. The furniture has been repeatable repaired and isn't safe. My son son sat down in a rickety kitchen chair for dinner and the wooden chair splintered into multiple pieces causing him to hit his head on the title floor. Wifi is sketchy at best and no cell phone service in the area. This place is not safe or sanitary for a family.

Great location
This was a great location, very close to ASU. It was very clean with a modern kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were comfortable as well. We were in town for golf, and the central location allowed us to enjoy several different courses, all located within a short driving distance. The host was very responsive and accommodating.

Amazing House and Hosts!
Expectations exceeded! Four of us traveled from across the country to gather for our annual guy’s weekend. We were searching for a home to fish, kayak, grill up some ribeyes, and drink whiskey by the fire. This home DELIVERED! The amazing array of decks, docks, and patios were the perfect setting for us to catch up on years past. The home was well laid out with more space than we needed. Everything was very well-kept, regularly update, and immaculately cleaned. From booking to departure Mark and Brenda were excellent communicators with detailed emails and messages. 10/10!

Family holiday at the lake
Pat's Place was perfect for our family holiday gathering. The house was clean and just as advertised. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools we needed to cook family meals together. Even though the lake was cold, we enjoyed fishing from the kayaks. The fire pit is perfectly placed to enjoy water views. The hosts were super responsive and answered a few questions for us during our visit.

Hamilton family getaway
We have used rentals from San Francisco to Wyoming to Texas and soon Hawaii. This property is as advertised. Some use "fish eye lenses" to make the rooms appear larger than pictured. Everything about Pat's Place is legit. What you see is what you get. We arrived right at check in time and the home was ready for us to move in. My wife and I were immediately blown away by the a/c set for comfort level on the 95 degree day. All rooms had ceiling fans. This house is a great lake experience. We had all ages to accommodate. Senior, adults, teens and children below the age of seven. Everyone was comfortable with the home. The deck work, dock, and Kayaks available for our use was incredible. Nature around us delivered with deer, birds and landscaping at their best. All considered this is a top notch property for families needing a comfortable place to chill. We will be looking to schedule another stay when family time permits. The Hamiltons

Great Getaway to the Lake
My family, including folks from age 1 to 87, had a fabulous long weekend at Pat's Place. The house is amazing, especially all of the outdoor facilities. We are all wowed by the quality of the woodwork (stairways, sitting areas, docks, etc) that gave the place a treehouse feel. Mark and Brenda were super helpful answering questions and making arrangements for things like extra firewood to enable our repeated use of the firepit down by the lake. Though it was cool, the kayaks provided are in great condition and we were able to use them several times. There's plenty to do within reasonable driving distance if you have kids (i.e. Texas State Railroad/Polar Express, Grapeland Safari, etc). Inside the house, everything was clean and well functioning with a good mix of private and open space to enable good family time. We would absolutely stay here again!
