Tempting for overnight stops to go for a hotel chain so there are no surprises but this hotel confirms the merit of staying in a hotel with character in a peaceful French village.
The building around a courtyard garden with an old well has much charm. We enjoyed a cold beer in the evening sun when we arrived after a long drive.
A modern extension is very well disguised with a form of ivy. The rooms in this are scrupulously clean, spacious and modern with a large shower. Perhaps the rooms in the original building are more traditional?
The breakfast in a room overlooking the courtyard, with a large variety of items including pastries, some cheese and cold meats, was very good.
The village restaurant is next door and offers takeaway pizzas 7-9pm. Order early as there can be a wait on busy evenings. Consider arriving at lunchtime as the restaurant seems to be rated and at that time of day offers set menus starting at just over 14 Euros.
