Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Book your tickets to Montevideo, the vibrant capital of Uruguay, and enter a world of elegant architecture, tango clubs, and beautiful beaches. With such an eclectic and exciting local culture, it's not a surprise that so many tourists choose to book Montevideo vacation packages. Flights to Montevideo land at the newly renovated Carrasco/General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport (MVD), about an 11-mile drive from the city.
You can find a hotel in Montevideo quite easily: There are some located just south of the airport and they become more numerous as you approach the city center. Travelers landing on Montevideo flights should be aware that taxis into the city from Carrasco International Airport can be quite expensive, so you're probably better off renting a car from one of the on-site agencies or catching the public bus outside the main terminal. You should be able to hop aboard just about any COPSA or COT bus with a Montevideo sign to Tres Cruces terminal in the center of town. This will put you in close proximity to many of the major sights and hotels. Be sure to pay close attention, as the bus doesn't actually pull into the terminal, but stops outside it.
Once you're settled in at your Montevideo hotel, set out to explore the historic Plaza Independencia and its many sights, including the Palacio Salvo, Mausoleo de Artigas, and Palacio Estévez. Check out Museo Andes 1972 for an in-depth look into the famous plane crash that spawned the movie "Alive." As sunset approaches, wander the Rambla de Montevideo, a promenade along the water where you can walk, run, bike, or just enjoy the view. Once night falls, pop over to Ciudad Vieja (the Old City) to access the local nightlife, as well as a great gathering of dining options.
Cheap flights to Montevideo will give you more pesos to spend on souvenir shopping or an extra show at the historic Solis Theatre. Travelocity will help you find great deals on airfare with our ability to search over 400 airlines and 510,000 hotels worldwide.
